#1 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » Who Governs Mars? - Corporate Warlords vs. Commonwealth » 2005-03-19 11:58:14

What if I think corporations are the spawn of satan and should have no role in such an inter...spacial(?) coalition?

Could I as a lowly earthling or martian protest or would I have to blow some stuff up before your mighty empire listened to me?

#2 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » Revolution - Which side are you on? » 2004-12-05 15:32:08

Liberationist, America nor any Earth nation will conquer Mars once she is nation.

#3 Re: Not So Free Chat » The Dollar$ - just how low can it go » 2004-11-26 20:47:19

I'm uncertain if ~Eternal~ is joking or not...

No, I am not, and to prove I am not, I will state this once and only once.
I am a Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyist-Syndicalist-Ecologist.

#4 Re: Not So Free Chat » The Dollar$ - just how low can it go » 2004-11-26 18:47:29

The dollar will only die with the bourgeoisie, which is envitable so there is no need in trying to perserve it.

#5 Re: Human missions » A "Quick & Dirty" Manned Mars Mission - How Would We Do It? » 2004-11-24 14:28:07

Perhaps a shenzhou-like craft would be good for a trip to Mars, given an extra module between the re-entry module and the orbital module.

This extra module would rotate giving 1/2 the gravity of Earth containing supplies to get there and living quarters.

Before the mission takes off though, some things would have to be sent to Mars already, namely : an ERV, a Hab, and supplies.

#7 Re: Civilization and Culture » Color Schemes » 2004-10-24 11:55:25

Autumn colors:  Soft green, dusty purple, orange, crimson, yellow
To atleast reflect upon what Mars once was, if the Greens will undoubtedly get their way.

#8 Re: Not So Free Chat » If a satellite crashes onto YOUR home... » 2004-10-23 09:54:30

Crap. I don't think my home owners insurance covers space junk.  big_smile

I think the People's Insurance of Home Destroying Space Objects covers it though.

#9 Re: Science, Technology, and Astronomy » Hyper Space - Is it possible? » 2004-10-16 19:09:33

Enivatably we will discover that there is a way to travel faster than light, and that nature itself may create these faster than light wonders in the forms of wormholes and tachyons, and we may utilize hyperspace one day but far from soon, but not too far.

Considering that energy needed to open a 'window' to hyperspace is supposed to be plank energy.

(btw, plank energy = 1.956 × 10^9 Joules)

So thats about 22 micograms of antimatter needed to result in that amount of energy, or 25 million dollars worth of antimatter.

So wheres the technology?

#10 Re: Human missions » Kerry's position on space *2* - ...continue discussion here (for now) » 2004-10-12 10:59:17

As I have stated before, anyone who is voting for a president on their space policy obviously has not sent their priorities straight.

#11 Re: Not So Free Chat » Christopher Reeve dead - ...RIP Superman... » 2004-10-11 13:16:22

*Just saw this on "Good Morning America"; husband has been watching it this a.m., while I slept in.  I stepped into the living room, he asked me if Christopher Reeve had died.  Reeve was on the screen, talking with Diane Sawyer; I figured just an interview, until I saw the year of birth and "2004" at the bottom, in yellow.  sad

Sorry to know it.  I was really hoping to see him walk again some day, as he vowed he would do.

Anyone remember the 1996 Oscars ceremony?  He came out in his wheelchair, the entire audience rose and applauded loudly, cheers and whistles.  He made a joke about having been notified of appearing there, and how long it took him to drive his wheelchair from the East Coast to Hollywood.

He really was an inspiration.

Rest in peace.

--Cindy

Remember, even though he never got to walk again, someday people will walk again thanks to him, and that is an encouraging thought smile

#12 Re: Not So Free Chat » Holy Smokes! - I agree with the CATO Institute » 2004-10-11 10:49:00

Hopefully the Democrats take all three big_smile!

Oh and since they have no chance

Libertarians for Senate!
Greens for House!

#13 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » My idea on mars governance - Im feeling optimistic » 2004-10-10 08:58:08

I'm leary of social democratic constitutions.

Either a Constitution should be objective, with the legislative branch having control over issues other than things like civil rights.

Reasons why we should have an objective Constitution?
Look at the socialist USSR constitution and the libertarian US constitution(+ammendments), everyone get's screwed.

#14 Re: Human missions » Kerry's position on space *2* - ...continue discussion here (for now) » 2004-10-10 08:55:47

I find myself in more support of Kerry's space policy than Bush's.

Bush's was a politcal stunt with not realy cost projections, while Kerry says the scientific community should run NASA with a well-to-do but not overly-done budget.

#15 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » All of you have it wrong » 2004-09-14 20:26:32

If your going to insult anarchy and communism, go learn what it is first.

#16 Re: Intelligent Alien Life » First Contact? - Something odd, at any rate » 2004-09-04 10:25:17

A 1,000 light-years a way?
That seems unlikely that then that it is alien because humanity most certainly would not be interesting a thousand years ago.
No, if we are going to be contact in this era, it will most likely be within a 30ly range.

#17 Re: Not So Free Chat » Religion vs Science » 2004-08-23 20:49:46

Genesis read as parable illustrates the theological importance, a literal interpretation only weakens Christianity smile

#18 Re: Science, Technology, and Astronomy » AU Microscopii » 2004-08-13 20:25:52

Now where be my warp ship Mr. Soon   :bars3:

#19 Re: Not So Free Chat » Predictions for 2005 » 2004-08-11 13:44:17

I take it everyone here who says Bush will win is either a) a Republican or b) Has not checked the latest polls.

#20 Re: Not So Free Chat » Predictions for 2005 » 2004-08-08 15:09:09

Either a) Bush will delcare himself Caeser and their will be a communist revolution or b) Kerry makes a big speech about what he's going to do and only does half of it.

#22 Re: Not So Free Chat » Predictions for 2004 - Got one? » 2004-08-07 18:07:11

I predict that if Bush is re-elected I'll move to Canada, if that has been restricted by then, or if Canada still exist at all sad

*Starts preparing to lie to the American Gestapo and say 'Hail Caeser Bush'*

#23 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » You are President » 2004-08-06 18:03:43

I'm a firm supporter of progressive taxation, environmentalism, syndicalism-socialism, oh and I'm a middle-lower class citizen so I oppose all those that oppose the proletariat cool .

Perhaps the space race will change the acquisition of wealth to the acquisition of land.
