Most people here seemed to think that cylinders or spheres are the best best for a pressurised environment...looks like this would have multiple hinges all over - surely hundreds of weak points all over.

Danish Space Research Institute was very active now most of its work is done through ESA, it took part in joint missions with NASA's Viking program Mars lander/Orbiter, the ESA Chinese Cluster DoubleStar mission Earth observation satellites and Planck CMB spacecraft. Boxabl is a company that manufactures "Boxabls" which are 20x20 mini-homes that can be stacked and re-arranged, built in a factory, mass produced, and towed by most vehicles. This allows people to purchase smaller units of a home then slowly add onto the homes as they can afford it, and could help solve the continued housing crisis around the world. With the help of Danish space design company SAGA Space Architects, a team of students at a Swiss boarding school designed what they call the Rosenberg Space Habitat (RSH), a futuristic three-story space condo — designed to perfectly fit inside a SpaceX Starship.
Using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, SAGA's partners in Denmark and Italy then brought the vision to life, installing it at the school's "Future Park," a self-sustaining, "experimental outdoor space," according to a press release.
The RSH — "the world's tallest 3D-printed polymer structure" — is an impressive 23 feet high. It's meant to allow students at the Institute auf dem Rosenberg to learn about what it takes for humans to thrive in space.
To make the experience extra convincing, the team even added a pet: a resident robot in the form of a Boston Dynamics Spot robodog.

I think it would be good if Mars had an 'assembler' site, that is for example with its own independent power, the assembler is inside a nuke powered factory or 'Android' that receives a compressed assembled 'parts' as payload and it builds a fleet of what ever is need on Mars. The plan for a 2d origami to become 3d and economically work perhaps 'In situ' literally to "on site" and "locally". Unassembled 3d cars and homes are shipped but most of the material is in fact from Mars but the more complex parts are from Earth. I think a lot of storage sites or radiation shelters might first be unfolded, a building or structure designed to hold Rovers or Helicopters also unfolded where the vehicles can be protected and cleaned. As the colony starts expanding a large Martian region, indoor food storing, perhaps a site with trade or shopping, leisure center area also unfolded, usually built on Earth culture ideas and anchored by history libraries, vacation sites, rest rooms, farms, stores. AI might come up with unique designs, a mix of Origami Shapes and use of traditional Structural Loads for an expanding colony.
Robots might have a village and city ready for the humans before they arrive.
I think the age of sending already made satellites into space is over, everything will probably be flat packed in some kind of flat space origami technology and self assemble

It may seem impossible to conceive, now that this structure is a 4,000-pound metal horse. But at one point, somebody lovingly folded its design with their bare hands.
You can see the creases and can deduce from the angular nature of the sculpture's limbs that this was a paper horse that probably stood on its own power.
Then, after an ancient technique modified to produce modern results, the work grew to several times its original size and weight.
Visitors can stand beneath the monumental sculptures at Florigami — the traveling exhibit created by Kevin and Jennifer Box that is currently housed in their front yard — and wonder about how they were made. The truth, says Kevin Box, is that each of the pieces can take up to a year to create using a process he's worked on for years.
"I pioneered a technique that employs the ceramic shell, lost-wax casting process to transform the paper into museum-quality metals like bronze, aluminum, and stainless steel," says Box of his pieces, some of which stand 30 feet tall. "Lost-wax casting is a 6,000-year-old, 35-step, 12-week process, if everything goes right. Many of the pieces take a year to create, since every step is done by hand in a foundry. The bonus was recognizing that certain pieces could scale up infinitely using sheet metal fabrication. The simple fact that origami begins as a flat piece lends itself to cutting flat sheets of metal and welding them into the complex forms."
Box, born in Oklahoma and now based in Santa Fe, never set out to be an origami artist — much less a creator of giant origami. But in the early days of his practice, he says everybody who saw his work likened it to origami.
So instead of fighting the perception, he leaned into it. He contacted accomplished origami artist Robert Lang and inquired about collaborating. Lang was immediately receptive, and for the last 15 years, they've turned paper art into metal. A number of other artists have also worked with Box to create larger-than-life sculptures.
Box worked for many years at a fine art foundry in Texas and developed a fabrication studio at his home. Several of the pieces in the Florigami exhibit are made out of aluminum on the premises.
The team's lead fabricator, Eben Markowski, says he and Box are among the few artists in the state who are also certified welders.
