What happened to Bigelow? Can anyone fill the gap?

Bigelow appears to have closed down (in 2020) and I can't find any mention of them starting up operations again.

I was surprised, especially as the USA is now moving towards creating a lunar base.

I was also disappointed as I had Bigelow down as a potential provider of expandable habitats for the first base on Mars.

Is there anyone else in the space habs business that people know of?

The question remains - what sort of habitats should we provide on Mars for the first base?

Re: What happened to Bigelow? Can anyone fill the gap?

A big shutdown with Corona and laid off employees due Covid last I heard or read of them, they plan some Moon or Space Station thingy but I don't know much beyond their PR and press. Bigelow himself I believe sued NASA and has provided financial support for investigations of UFOs or UAPs or whatever that 'de-classified release' was.

"First Base"".

NASA will spend $250,000 to keep the expandable BEAM Module operating on the ISS instead of abandoning it. (Bigelow forfeited ownership years ago).

I think the growth of Musk and Space-X has taken a lot of the thunder away from the Bigelow hype.
