#101 Re: Interplanetary transportation » Fictional Rockets » 2004-04-18 15:57:45

I was bored, so I popped open MS-Paint and whipped out these 'beauties'.
So heres some fictional rockets from a fictional company established in the fictional timeline of 1970's
1970 Soyuz-Class Rocket:

1990 Reusable Launch Vehicle:

2020 Crew Exploration Vehicle:

Also, would it be that difficult to add .png to the accepted image extensions sad?

#102 Re: Human missions » The First to Mars - Who will it be? » 2004-04-18 11:18:49

I though International Cooperation would be it, but since when has NASA ever cooperized with anybody but Russia, and barely with them too.

Then I though the RSA, but they're broke sad.

Ultimately, I think it will be private enterprise, or highly private enterprise supported NASA missions with civillians.

#103 Re: Human missions » Questions » 2004-04-18 09:38:07

Okay I have several questions about a one-way trip(Colonization not suicide) to Mars.

How much should it cost(minimum & maximum)?

What should the hull and frame be composed of?

How many should go?

Artificial gravity would be a must, how wide should each ring be(I've heard a 48.77 minimum)?

Which current or next 15 year propulsion method should be used?(Most likely chemical, plasma, solar sail, or ion)?

I was not neccessarily flaming him, but I was warning New Mars.
Its not that I want Ikester gone, its just that he causes alot of problems and has a slight "My Way or The Highway" opinion.

#105 Re: Human missions » Russians to Mars by 2011? - I seriously doubt it. » 2004-04-16 20:37:34

Clark, as a Neocon partisan myself, I must say that I've had the best laugh today...seeing you being accused of being a CIA agent.  big_smile

You must be deeply, deeply, deeply, undercover.

Its starting to seem like I'm the only Liberal on this message board sad

#106 Re: Not So Free Chat » A "Yes These People Actually Exist Moment" - Phyllis Reincarnated. » 2004-04-16 15:38:54

Its the Biblical chronoliges added up, of course theres no evidence for anyone before Abraham mentioned in the Bible to be real person.

I have to warn New Mars, ikester is known for spreading false information, propaganda, spamming, flaming, and resistance to *gasp* learning!

#107 Re: Life on Mars » Life... if there is or was, what was it like? » 2004-04-15 16:03:25

Degenerate plants got started, along with microbes.

^Cyanobacteria formed 3.8 billion years ago on Earth, why not Mars too?

#109 Re: Not So Free Chat » A "Yes These People Actually Exist Moment" - Phyllis Reincarnated. » 2004-04-11 13:38:28

Somehow I feel I'm not the best person to answer you question, perhaps dicktice shall?

#110 Re: Not So Free Chat » A "Yes These People Actually Exist Moment" - Phyllis Reincarnated. » 2004-04-11 11:10:02

Indeed, dicktice proceeds to illuminate the point of this topic, Its not that they believe that way, but they present it as scientific fact and try to force it upon people.

#112 Re: Not So Free Chat » A "Yes These People Actually Exist Moment" - Phyllis Reincarnated. » 2004-04-10 16:02:53

Eh yeah... I'm a Evolutionary Theist(Theistic Evolution if you will), but YEC's are the unusual people that believe there is no evidence for evolution, no evidence that the earth/universe is older than 6000 years, and in some cases they believe in geocentrism.

#113 Re: Not So Free Chat » Howard Stern's Fine » 2004-04-10 14:44:10
