I like the idea of plasma rockets but I would like more R&D on nuclear propulsion first.
I know it doesn't mention Mars by 2020, but with buget's like that we should beable to make that deadline.
Since the new 2003 NASA buget was unveiled, it looks like we will have a human mission to Mars in 2020. It is a great buget. More money going to Mars research and nuclear propulsion although it cancled the Pluto and Europa missions.
I was checking out the Planetary Society's webpage and they are accepting donations to build Mars Outposts. What is the point? We are already doing it. It is basically re-inventing the wheel. What would be good is if the Planetary Society and the Mars Society could work together in these projects and merge funds. Any thoughts?
Human Mars Exploration be the key to bailing us out of this recession? Think about it.... In the Apollo days, different aerospace companies worked on the Saturn V rocket. Something expensive (well it doesn't have to be too expensive) like a human Mars Mission would surely help the economy and science. Any thoughts on this?
A survey is currently being hosted by the Planetary Society to voice your opinion on what NASA should do concerning Space Science. What I didn't like about the survey was that they said nothing about human space flight ??? . ANyway if you wish to fill out the form please go to http://planetary.org .
