This zone near South Pole is full of strange things, similar to vegetation and lakes. However it is accurately avoided by Hirise Imaging project. We have only MOC low resolution images.
Quite strange for me....

Wait 6 months to a year and see then.
Unless you have an official statement from hirise saying they are not photographing that zone, then I think your statement might have a bit more weight. Not that you can't make it of course.

Give them time, they'll get some shots of the south.

MRO has been busy imaging the North pole to help Phoenix find a landing site. Phoenix will launch in 4 months.

(Jul,8 2007) It seems that the FORBIDDEN ZONE is still unphotographed... maybe a coincidence. But I don't think so...
Let's wait some more time and see what happens :? :? :?
