Re: Chat

I grew up in the tail end of something not quite that bad.

In a revulsion to that however, it might be possible to overreact.

You need to avoid green pseudo-paganism.  (Nature worship).

A process control can push too far one way and then oscillate too far in the opposite direction.

The craving for sunlight indulgence, seems sensible to me, even if damaging.  Working in blue light, miserable, no surprise that they might overdo the correction to it.

Now, we believe that red light is beneficial to health, and I believe probably even the very pale should have just a bit of UV from time to time.

So, now we have the opportunity to get the process control better controlled to a more beneficial set point.

Quote:

Red light therapy (RLT) offers various potential benefits, including improved skin health, enhanced wound healing, reduced inflammation, and pain relief.
Overview of Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy utilizes low-level wavelengths of red light to stimulate cellular processes in the body. It is thought to enhance mitochondrial function, leading to increased energy production in cells, which can promote healing and regeneration.

Key Benefits
Skin Health: RLT is commonly used to improve skin conditions such as wrinkles, acne, and scars. It is believed to stimulate collagen production, enhance skin texture, and reduce signs of aging by promoting blood circulation and cellular repair.
2
Wound Healing: Studies suggest that red light therapy can accelerate the healing of chronic wounds and injuries by promoting new skin growth and improving blood vessel formation.
2
Pain Relief: RLT may help alleviate pain associated with inflammation, such as arthritis and muscle soreness. Research indicates that it can reduce pain and improve function in conditions like temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) and rheumatoid arthritis.
2
Hair Growth: Low-level laser therapy, a form of red light therapy, has shown promise in treating hair loss, particularly androgenetic alopecia. Clinical studies have reported increased hair density and improved hair regrowth in individuals undergoing RLT.
2
Reduced Inflammation: RLT has anti-inflammatory effects, which can benefit various conditions, including skin disorders like psoriasis and rosacea. By reducing inflammation, it may help improve overall skin health and comfort.

Considerations
While red light therapy shows promise for various applications, it is essential to note that more research is needed to fully understand its effectiveness and optimal usage. Individuals interested in RLT should consult with healthcare providers to determine if it is suitable for their specific conditions.

In summary, red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment with potential benefits for skin health, wound healing, pain relief, and more, making it an area of growing interest in both medical and cosmetic fields.

The danger of abandonment of Industrious behaviors for Pseudo-Paganism, is to give excessive advantage to the Verbal and Violent types, damaging the gene pool as a consequence.  (That is my suspicion).

One fun British thing has been "Harry Potter".  The witches are verbal over the work of hands, and even violent as they do at times kill each other.  But the hands and eyes, where are they?

The witches speak words, and the material universe grants them benefits.  Not a good teaching for children, in my opinion.

(But lots of fun).

I believe that the strength of the Roman Empire and those like it was that they understood that certain agricultural areas were worth the conquest.  They did not go too far north, as I think that the profit margin was not that good, but the financial burden was excessive to subordinate the northern populations.

It is curious that these areas were overrun by the farmer populations from Anatolia, who would not have spoken Indo-European languages.

But in time the peoples from the Steppes imposed their languages on them.

I think the possible reason was that when the farmers overran/displaced/absorbed the hunter-gatherers, they set up their hierarchy of domesticated witches over the common people.

Here I am taking liberty to use the word "Witch" to describe people who use verbiage and violence to hold the hands and eyes as captive servants.  Domesticated is used by me to suggest that at least they have some form of moral structure.

But I think that good farmland that allows Hierarchy of this sort, eventually overproduces "Witches", and underproduces the people of hands and eyes.  And it then becomes vulnerable to overthrow.

We have a line of such cities, in the "West" as conceived by the Romans.  Dublin<>London<>Paris<>Rome<>Athens<>Egypt.  These things were near to the concept of what the Romans might have considered worth the trouble.  They never did directly get to Ireland.

But perhaps the soils thin, and the witches overproduce their kind at the expense of useful workers.

South Britain attracted the Romans but was eventually considered more trouble than it was worth.

The Britain and Ireland were about as good as Italy in some ways.  I think that Iodine from the Seas may have been favorable to nutrition.

The North does not coddle idiot witches as much as does England.

Here is the developing problem between the USA and the UK.  I see that it may be that the Idiots are bringing in witches from other religions to do killings for them.

Here in the USA, we have found a way to connect the south to the north.  It works quite well.

I would advise your rulers to be careful where they wave their magic wand.  It better not point at us.

Otherwise, you guys should have great possibilities for a much better future.

Ending Pending smile

Is it possible that the root of political science claims is to produce white collar jobs for people who paid for an education and do not want a real job?

Another  flight. This time to Kingfisher Lake z Ontario. Early morning flight on a Metrliner aircraft. Twin turboprop, one seat on each side of the isle. Narrow, no overhead bin, ceiling barely high enough for my head, seats on a platform, one step up. No under belly cargo hold. Cargo in back.

Hope you enjoy the trip.  It sounds like an adventure.

Re: Chat

For RobertDyck re Metroliner...

I found this detailed report on a flight on the Metroliner ...

https://airlinegeeks.com/2021/01/07/tri … etroliner/

The report includes numerous pictures and plenty of favorable commentary.

I'm hoping you can review the article to see if it matches your experience at all.

The experience for the flight crew would certainly be different from the experience of the major airlines.

Re: Chat

Connecting flight at Sioux Lookout. Dash 8 aircraft, larger, 2 seats on each side of the isle, overhead bin, can actually stand. In a Metrliner I had to bend over, flat back. Cargo is still in the back. Had to pickup my bag, carry to check-in counter for connecting flight. No time for snacks.

Re: Chat

Perimeter Aviation and Bearskin Airlines (owned by Perimeter) operate Metroliner III aircraft. One route in Manitoba north operates a Metroliner II. The flight is more rough than larger aircraft, it's tossed about by turbulence. The Metroliner II is smaller, and when I flew on it they had removed seats. But the III's have seats all the way back to the rear bulkhead. Cargo behind the bulkhead. Landing is an experience; the pilot moving the nose of the plane all around trying to line up with the runway.

Dash 8 is as smooth as a modern jet airliner. Still turboprop, works on shorter runways. So far all airports have paved runways, but past trips in the north had crushed rock.

Re: Chat

For RobertDyck ...

Wikipedia has a long article on the history of the Dash-8: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havill … ada_Dash_8

The article reports on the difficulties and challenges of trying to operate an aircraft manufacturing service in a changing and competitive market.

You mentioned the aircraft lining up with the runway.  If that was a single runway (as might be the case in smaller northern cities) then cross winds are going to be a factor, and the pilot has the challenge of trying to figure out how much cross wind exists at any given moment.

Your report also confirms what the aviation reporter noted in the report on the Metroliner... the cabin door is not present in this model.

Sounds like a (relatively) comfortable ride in the Dash 8.

Re: Chat

Food service in the Dash-8 was ritz crackers filled with cheese. No water available because they left the water in the aircraft overnight. I don't know if there is a hanger in the Sioux Lookout airport, but the Dash-8 wasn't parked in one. Left outdoors in -26°C (-14.8°F) weather will freeze bottled water. When your greatest inconvenience is drinking water on a 1 hour flight, you're doing well.

Re: Chat

Received notice from the airline that my return flight is cancelled. Was supposed to depart 10:55am. They rescheduled without even asking, now 6:45pm. The connecting flight from Sioux Lookout to Winnipeg was a different airline. They also notified me they rescheduled. Instead of departing 5:50pm today, it'll be the same time tomorrow. The airline that cancelled will pay for my accommodation at Sioux Lookout tonight.

For RobertDyck re overnight stay in Sioux Lookout ...

Please consider adding a bit of local reporting, since you have an unexpected bit of time.

I asked Wikipedia about the town, and was surprised to find a substantial article...

Sioux Lookout is a town in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, with a population of 5,838 people (up 10.8% since 2016).[2] Known locally as the "Hub of the North", it is serviced by the Sioux Lookout Airport, Highway 72, and the Sioux Lookout railway station. According to a 2011 study commissioned by the municipality, health care and social services ranked as the largest sources of employment, followed by the retail trade, public administration, transportation and warehousing, manufacturing, accommodation and food services, and education.

Calliban, SpaceNut, GW Johnson and others are thinking about a town on Mars.  You might be looking at a good model of one.

Re: Chat

I've been to the airport a few times, but never beyond the airport before. We'll see what the hotel is like when I get there.

Re: Chat

My 10:55am flight from Kingfisher Lake was delayed to 6:45p, then 7:30, then 9:15, then cancelled. I got on a flight late this morning. They had rescheduled my connecting flight as well, from 5:50pm yesterday, to today, then tomorrow. Wasaya Airline convinced Bearskin Airlines to put me in a flight today. I'm grateful, want to get home. I'm sure one consideration is they don't have to pay for a hotel. My 5:50pm flight was delayed to 6:00pm, and now 7:15pm. I am hopeful it will actually happen. Delays for Wasaya were due to weather, snow on the runway. Sioux Lookout is a.larger airport, with tarmac (asphalt) pavement, not just crushed rock. And the email said the latest delays were due to unscheduled maintenance.

So I don't have pictures of Sioux Lookout. Never left the airport. Did get some pictures of Kingfisher Lake. The reservation has a 2-story building for the band office, across the street is small 2-story hotel. Kitty-corner from the band office is the one store. The hotel has a small restaurant is also a convenience store. Post Office is in the band office building.

Re: Chat

Flight from Kingfisher Lake to Sioux Lookout was on a Beech 1900D. Smaller aircraft, one seat on each side of the isle, but more headroom than a Metroliner. Upto 18 passengers.

Return to Winnipeg, aircraft moving at 8:34pm. Metroliner again. Will stop at Red Lake. Lucky if we reach Winnipeg airport at 10:20pm.

Re: Chat

And another flight. The terminal building for Perimeter Aviation has been massively renovated. But there are fees for airport improvement and security. And city transit changed bus routes, the bus here now turns 3 blocks away, heads to the main terminal building. Appears some people want to hide the fact this terminal exists.
Direct flight to Sandy Lake. Flight departs 8:00am, arrives 9:30am. Return flight later today, departing 2:45pm. This airline is frequently late. Hopefully everything works.

Dash-8 aircraft. Cabin bulkhead reduces seats to 9 rows. Back for cargo.

Safety card says seat cushion is a floatation device. But if we ditch in a lake in December, it's frozen over. Ice will be thin, but swimming in literal ice water? We would be screwed. Yes, I chose an emergency exit on purpose, so pay attention to safety presentation. When I flew to Mars Society conventions before COVID, American Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft had the seat in front of the emergency exit seat removed, so extra legroom. On this flight legroom is the same as any other row, but I got in the habit.
