Mars features in Babylon 5, a creature or force known as 'The Shadows' retreated into hibernation, though not before burying many of their ships and supplies on hundreds of barren unpopulated worlds including Mars and Ganymede where they would be safe and easy to quietly retrieve when the time was again right for another war.
JMS, Joseph Michael Straczynski is also known for Changeling (2008) the comic book Thor and Marvel's Thor movie and the apocalyptic horror film World War Z.

I feel there is Not much scifi on tv worth watching
However there is a media creator that links to the National Space Society guy, the name Isaac Arthur has show up in newmars discussion of Exoplanets, Cyberpunk Dystopia or StarTrek Utopia. His links might pop up in Futurist and Futurologist Space concepts and scifi ideas. I think he has a background in biophysics and may be involved in politics, he has worked with astrophysics guys and he discusses many fringe ideas about the future of exploration and he has thousands of online followers. Perhaps you could call him a content creator, every week there will be a new video about 30 + mins long.

Maybe not a favorite but he was very influential on that scifi goth look of grim horrific
The images can be of horror, demons of the past, an idea of bio chemical weapons, a real life era of fear over the AIDs virus, Giger’s art is like a marine mammal about to bite and eat while watching real life horrors from the insect kingdom, there are bone and exoskeleton shapes, and machinery patterns, it works on almost a primal level digs down deep into the disturbing.
New York-based filmmaker Zev Deans and Giger’s longtime agent
a: Why do you think his art work has largely remained out of the mainstream?
https://news.artnet.com/art-world/hr-gi … ath-290683
ZD: He has a populist appeal, he’s been shunned by the art world for the past 30-40 years. He was hanging out with Dalì and the surrealists of the 20th century. But the second he did Alien, and the second you become a part of pop culture reference, the art world turns away. There’s certainly more crossover now, but back at the time it certainly alienated him. He got pigeon-holed into the dark, tattooed, metal world that I work in, but I definitely see his work above and beyond the niche.

The Giger art makes it, cinematic and sound and visual in the original scifi horror film is dark, directed by Ridley Scott and written by Dan O'Bannon and also influenced part 2 'Aliens' science fiction action film written and directed by James Cameron.
an apology letter?

Giger might not always have been so grim and bleak, Swissmade looks gloomy and moody but not that 'horror' you might normally link with the artist H. R. Giger
'Swissmade'
https://www.johncoulthart.com/feuilleto … made-2069/
I found it difficult to understand the weird darkness of the set designs, how someone would paint and sculpt and draw stuff that was so bleak terror 'grimdark', its like a blend of horror shapes mix of snake and bugs and fish like creature mixed with human and distorted machine shapes known as "biomechanical" then I read of person Li Tobler (30 November 1947 – 19 May 1975)
https://www.fanpop.com/clubs/celebritie … 1975-photo
Giger’s longtime girlfriend and frequent early model, Swiss actress Li Tobler, committed suicide, some of his stuff looks demonic like or Satanic particularly Necronomicon art book. There are lots of Goth or Dark Gothic imagery and skull shapes in his art, Heavy Metal Artists were inspired by his art, punk rock bands would feature his work and Blondie or Deborah Harry's KooKoo.
They seemed to have a weird lifestyle an almost totally destructive 'open relationship' Tobler lived with Giger in squalor, often inside condemned buildings, eventually becoming romantically involved, there was also heavy drug dependence . She is immortalized in Giger's famous portraits Li I and Li II

There is a Giger Bar in Chur which looks weird horrific odd

He finally died aged 74 in 2014, he was involved with early efforts to put Dune on screen but also is perhaps better know as the guy who designed the nightmarish xenomorph creature that takes over a spacecraft in the 1979 film “Alien,”
and now here is where things go weird because Artifical Intelligence is so good at copying artistic style, sound, painting and music, AI has got so good at mimicry of Art and Photographer style it can almost make that 'Dune' film which was never made
