A sparrow ended up deceased on my patio yesterday. A neighbor was wearing an M95 mask while walking her dog, but the dog had no mask.
I'm wondering if you might be willing to watch for any Internet news on bird and small mammal injury caused by the air pollution caused by wild fires.

I have seen articles before on how toxic gas and studies which find wildfire smoke caused massive bird die-off
a number of articles also came out after the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season

Chilling footage shows entire flock of blackbirds mysteriously dropping dead on Mexico street
https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-c … 14770.html
The migratory birds had arrived from northern Canada to spend the winter in Mexico, but likely ended up being impacted from high levels of air pollution, which has hit the region lately due to an increase in wood-burning heaters, agrochemicals and low temperatures.

How Wildfires Affect Birds
Big burns are natural, but climate change could make especially destructive fire seasons the new normal.
https://www.audubon.org/news/how-wildfires-affect-birds
'Assuming birds escape a fire, smoke might still affect their health in ways that aren’t very well understood. “We do know that exposure to particulate matter, which of course is of great concern for human health, can affect birds as well,” says Olivia Sanderfoot, a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Washington Seattle who studies how air pollution affects birds. For example, veterinarians and poultry scientists who study captive birds have found that smoke can damage lung tissue and leave the animals susceptible to potentially lethal respiratory infections.
How that plays out in the wild is largely unknown, Sanderfoot says. Her current research aims to track changes in bird populations and diversity after exposure to smoke from large wildfires. In some cases, smoke inhalation might make it harder for birds to flee onrushing flames. Thick smoke, for instance, may have contributed to the deaths of 50 adult White Ibises during a 1999 fire in the Everglades, Sanderfoot reported in a recent paper. And some low-flying species might succumb to smoke inhalation or exhaustion before they can escape forest fires, according to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation.'

For Mars_B4_Moon re Maui ... we are all trying to gather information from many sources, and my guess is that no one anywhere has a full picture of the disaster, but one tiny detail might fit ... I caught an interview with a Hawaiian official who said that fiber optic cables melted. I have no way of knowing if the sirens were controlled by signals passing through fiber optic cables, but if they were, then at some point those signals would have been blocked.
It seems to me that the conditions that led to the disaster at Maui might have ben recognized as super dangerous by a highly trained person who was on site and looking for danger. The average person is NOT ** that **.
The wild fires all over the world are examples of conditions reaching danger levels without human awareness.

They say Winds were Big Factors that caused a fire to spread quickly in Hawaii. Some report Non-native plant, tree, grasses that are more flammable than native plants, coupled with dry conditions. So watching vids I caught some clips it says there was debate on water supply, a change in agriculture and movement of water, a series of alarm systems that might have been destroyed, there is also blame on invasive plant and animal species the spread of non-native vegetation which is dry and ready to burn. Then as fires break they say hot dry conditions and powered by wind then series of wildfires suddenly broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii the largest destruction predominantly on the island of Maui, the Fires get pushed by a strong high-pressure area north of Hawaii and Hurricane Dora to the south, most of the destruction is in a populated area, overwhelmingly residential in nature, mostly people's homes and where people were living as the fires hit. Already some intense winds knocked down numerous utility poles perhaps doing damage to communication. Josh Green, referred to the wildfires as the "worst natural disaster".

Canadian fires still out of control, a large part of Canada seems to be in an event that looks like something from a movie, the global collapse perhaps an event that many preppers warned of. Yellowknife the capital, largest community, and only city in the Northwest Territories, Canada. It is on the northern shore of Great Slave Lake, about 400 km (250 mi) south of the Arctic Circle. Yellowknife is on the Canadian Shield, which was scoured down to rock during the last IceAge, Yellowknife normally has few fires and has a subarctic climate. The Snowking Winter Festival is an annual festival held each March in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
