Newly-developed orbital and suborbital launch vehicles are being readied for test flights at the Jiuquan spaceport as China’s efforts to foster a commercial space sector advance.
Landspace, a Beijing-based launch startup, is working towards the launch of its Zhuque-2, methane and liquid oxygen rocket.
The mission, expected in the near future, will represent the first launch of a liquid propellant launch vehicle by China’s nascent commercial space sector.

The 2022 State of the Space Industrial Base Report was released jointly by The Defense Innovation Unit, the United States Space Force, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. It represents the recommendations of 350 industry experts regarding a variety of topic areas, including the economic development and human settlement of space, in-space transportation and logistics, power and propulsion, and STEM education.
"Industry feedback highlighted the need to accelerate to regain strategic leadership from China, as well as the specific actions that need to be taken," said Colonel Eric J. Felt, director of Architecture, Science & Technology at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force For Space Acquisition and Integration, in a statement.
The future of the U.S. in space is another space race, according to the report. However, this time the opposing nation will be China.
"Winning the New Space Race is a national imperative and a critical component of the preservation of liberty and prosperity in the 21st century for the United States, our allies, and partners. The rise of China as both an economic and space power is an imminent threat to democracy, the free market economy, and the international liberal order," the report reads.
"It's not just our machines or our people that we send into space. It's our values. It's who we are. It's things like rule of law, democracy, human rights, and a free market economy" Scott Pace, director of George Washington University's Space Policy Institute, told CNN. "I see Artemis and our human expansion into space as a projection of our American values. It's about diplomatically shaping this new domain that we depend on."

once I know someone is bullshitting me I almost never click on their vids again, once they are exposed as deliberate liars I rarely bother myself to listen to their noise pollution ever again. Zeihan isn't always wrong, some of his investor advice might be ok but he did study under that globalist multi cultural analyst George Friedman who was utterly convinced that USA was going to have to bomb Japan in the 90s. He even sold a bunches of millions of consumer type a book called 'The Coming War with Japan' and made a lot of money with his tall stories. George Friedman with his book predicted a new bombing of Japan yet Zeihan is a little more sophisticated in his sales pitches, but I don't expect Peter Zeihan to have much knowledge on Hydro Dams, Fusion power, Electronic Manufacturing or Space Colonization but he is very good at what he does, he talks and uses his words in his own magic hypnotic way and he sells an idea, the Hungarian Globe trotter George Friedman and 'Stratfor' should tell you most of what you need to know about the guy. George Friedman's best remark on the Chinese was to compare them exactly to 1 Billion Sub Saharan African Congoid Negroids who lived in poverty and misery, he thought the Chinese nothing more than Billion of stupid people living in misery, the cheap sleazy sales men are a dime a dozen but I think that comment really tells you all you needed to know about his mentor Friendman, he could not tell the different between a Yellow Mongoloid Chinese speaker and a Sub Saharan African Bantu. Why do we allow ourselves to be fed stories of nonsense? Are we as humans a people who come with character flaws, are we simply too Naïve and Too Trusting is that why idiots are sometimes allowed lead us or we Listen to guys who have been wrong more often than they get things correct.

China is planning to deploy a constellation of satellites in orbit around the moon to create a radio telescope that would enable the study of radio waves longer than 33 feet, providing insights into the "Dark Ages" of the universe. Space.com reports:
The array would consist of one "mother" satellite and eight mini "daughter" craft. The mother would process data and communicate with Earth, and the daughters would detect radio signals from the farthest reaches of the cosmos, Xuelei Chen, an astronomer at the China National Space Administration (CNSA), said at the Astronomy From the Moon conference held earlier this year in London. Putting such an array in orbit around the moon would be technically more feasible than building a telescope directly on the lunar surface, a venture that NASA and other space agencies are currently considering as one of the next big steps in astronomy.
"There are a number of advantages in doing this in orbit instead of on the surface because it's engineeringly much simpler," Chen said during the conference. "There is no need for landing and a deployment, and also because the lunar orbital period is two hours, we can use solar power, which is much simpler than doing it on the lunar surface, which, if you want to observe during the lunar night, then you have to provide the energy for almost 14 days." He added that this proposed "Discovering Sky at the Longest Wavelength," or Hongmeng Project, could orbit the moon as early as 2026.
A telescope on the moon, astronomers say, would allow them to finally see cosmic radiation in a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that is impossible to study from Earth's surface: radio waves longer than 33 feet (10 meters), or, in other words, those with frequencies below 30 megahertz (MHz). "If you are looking into the low-frequency part of the electromagnetic spectrum, you'll find that, due to strong absorption [by Earth's atmosphere], we know very little about [the region] below 30 megahertz," Chen said. "It's almost a blank part of the electromagnetic spectrum. So we want to open this last electromagnetic window of the universe."

I don't know if China will get there but at the moment it is one of the stronger competitors against NASA's vision while US Leadership stumbles.
