Agreed, the Viking probes used several parachutes, to land in the 70's, which should require massive parachutes if the atmosphere is so thin?
I might do a comparison to see just how much oxygen and supposedly high levels of CO2, is needed for a landing of such probes.
Can a parachute open if there is no atmosphere on Mars?? The parachute would be useless. This is a good question, I think it is another show of NASA to laugh at us.

There's a very, very thin atmosphere on Mars. Everyone knows that! What are you claiming? Just be specific. Are you claiming there is no atmosphere, some atmosphere, an Earth-like atmosphere or something else.

I generally disapprove of colourising parts of pictures to "prove" something is there. You can use that technique to "prove" anything you like is there. Colourising is only justified where you clearly have a well defined object, in order to differentiate it from the surrounding environment and so focus on it. There is no well defined object in the image you posted.

Be specific, l will let this thread take care of that!

Somebody has deleted my message about the CO2 in the Martian atmosphere.
The density of the Martian atmosphere is 100 times less that that of the Earth. So... how can a parachute open with a weak atmosphere? it is almost impossible that a parachute opens with a weak atmosphere. The spacecraft would fall over Mars' surface suffering damages.
I repeat: If CO2 really causes climate change on Earth ... what about the 97 percent of CO2 in the atmosphere of Mars? Shouldn't it be a planet burning with heat? Is it real that CO2 causes global warming? is a lie? However, Mars has very cold temperatures, at least in the night. Who understands this? who gives a thoughtful response?

Not delete but moved to a new topic 97% Co2 atmosphere as this one is more about images of mars that make one wonder about its past. We can carry on about the mars inconsistancy in that topic which is the question of if the gas is a warmer than why is mars so cold.
I believe there is a series of smaller ones that open to pull the larger unit out so that it can work.
Where the parachutes are band gap style the pressure is collected over time and released in the gap area to allow for it to inflate.

Not much today, plants, alien party...
Top left, probably a rock, or part of a stone building blown off, below that, no it is not a machine part, but it is part of the rover, (probably the leg) being reflected back to us; but look at how it is being reflected,...or what looks like a perfect mirror, this might be a shiny rock fluke, or more deliberate staging.
Right, bottom, more weird plants, above that the dark sculpture again, which seems to be hollow, and is supported by a wire or metal pole, or another letterbox.
Above that plants in the foreground, a lake and distant hills, (it is probably mist).
This weird thing that looks like a martian gray sculpture, and going by the next image, part of a collection.
Left, the shadow shows a plant with bulb or leaves with a few flowers up top, but nothing is there, above, (good example of NASA intentionally blurring out plant life).
And right, what looks like a group of Grays watching something? But going by the last collage scultpure more likely that this is a row of houses with these acting like letterboxes, or there body are too thin to be a legit gray.
Could even be a martian cemetery, but either way these things are not the rover, or a rock formation, (the odd's are in the trillions that each one would resemble an grays head, etc).

Yes, pretty blurry, but the third ones shows merit.
Great video, thought, although l don't agree that NASA will keep a lid on this forever, since with Musk and others getting into space, it is only a matter of time before they spill it.
NASA will spill the beans, in 2033, and it is true that some refuse to see it, no matter what you do, or how good the evidence, that is true for a lot of things, facts are ignored and emotional recklessness takes over.

Very interesting article, Jorgear. Thanks for that.

Very blurry. Treating that image as an insect is about as credible as seeing shapes in clouds in the sky.

Great video by Mike Bara explaining the Mars events https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d8BpsmEdXM
Several years back, Mike Bara and I met up (finally) at a conference here in Los Angeles. At the time, I discovered this tantalizing character at the bottom of a huge 1.5 gig image taken from the MRO of a region located in the vast plains to the south of Melas Chasma - ESP_011359_1695
Here's a link for Mike recorded in Manchester UK where he speaks about the find and the ensuing discussion with the audience and especially the surrounding artifacts of the central character.

A bit harsh I think...he does have expertise in this area. It can't be pareidolia alone, because you could find a million insects on Mars that way! He'll be taking into account a lot of things we won't be aware of such as typical insect behaviour and so on.
There are certainly questions about why NASA hasn't taken a closer interest in some of the objects seen close to the Rover - or have they and just not told us?

Is that original color, as released by NASA? I'm surprised you didn't say it's a car jack stand.
Online
or from such distance and magnefication it could have been one of these
It is quite grainy but its worth investigating once man can get to it or with a more local rover that does not look at it from a distance.

Something that looks very mars like here is Wolfer Creek meteor crater in Western Australia.
http://www.spxdaily.com/images-hg/wolfe-creek-meteor-crater-western-australia-hg.jpg
Yees, and these from WA, in AU, are most likely very similar to the Great Lakes system up the top of Mars, that is if NASA cut the crap.

A few bones today, or petrified tree trunk?
First this weird rock that may be artificial, but the thing below it sure looks fake.
Sure looks like a bone?
And this sure looks like a tree trunk or giant bone, dinosaurs on Mars?

Yes, Tmcom, it is not the first time I hear there were dinosaurs on Mars. Also sure that is a bone. I don't stop saying that Mars was a copy of the Earth.
