Nice image but how are you planning to get the rotational power caused by the wind forces to your power system.

Bookmark organization strategies: tags, folders, and summaries
Effective bookmark management relies on a combination of strategies. Here's a breakdown:
1. Tags
Enhances discoverability: Assigning keywords or tags makes it easier to locate bookmarks later, especially if you have a large collection.
Provides multiple access points: A single bookmark can have several tags, allowing you to categorize it in multiple ways (e.g., "#recipes" and "#dinner").
Offers flexibility: Tags allow for a more dynamic and adaptive organization structure compared to static folders.
Enables filtering and searching: You can easily filter and search through your bookmarks based on specific tags or combinations of tags.
Supports collaboration and sharing: Social bookmarking tools with tags facilitate sharing and collaborative research.
Reflects your interests: You can use tags to note specific aspects of content that might not be included in the original title or description, such as a particular trope in a fanfiction or the format of a resource.
2. Folders
Provides structure and hierarchy: Folders allow you to organize bookmarks into logical categories and subcategories.
Visually intuitive: A well-structured folder hierarchy can be easy to navigate, particularly for those who prefer a traditional file management approach.
Effective for broad categorization: Use folders for overarching topics or projects.
3. Summaries
Aids in recall: A concise summary helps you remember the content of a bookmarked page without needing to revisit the original source.
Enhances comprehension: Writing a summary requires you to identify the key information and main idea of the content, which can improve understanding.
Promotes active reading: The act of summarizing can encourage a more engaged and critical approach to consuming information.
Facilitates sharing and collaboration: Sharing bookmarks along with their summaries allows others to quickly grasp the essence of the content.
Best practices
Combine tags and folders: Use a blend of folders for broad categories and tags for more specific and flexible indexing of your bookmarks.
Establish a consistent tagging system: Choose a consistent vocabulary and naming conventions for your tags.
Keep summaries concise and focused: Aim for short summaries highlighting the most important points.
Utilize AI-powered tools: Consider bookmark managers like Raindrop.io or SaveDay that offer AI-driven tagging and summarization features.
Periodically review and update: Regularly go through your bookmarks and delete irrelevant ones, merge redundant tags, and update summaries to maintain a clean and effective system.
By thoughtfully applying these strategies, you can transform your browser's default bookmarking features or leverage dedicated tools to create a well-organized and easily navigable library of valuable online resources

Much has happened in the past including the #hash Tag such as "Education done Right", so is this a bookmark?

I have seen the report of the topic and question the relavance of such as to Mars, as it does seem to be outside of a topic for the good of the forum and of the society let alone for a journey to Mars. Please consider altering the title and content.

Searchterm "sagan and city" for bookmark gives back the topics which have both words together rather than seperate without the "" around the two words with and.

Major change coming on the presurization tanks as they are going to a smaller more distributed system . Also the vacuum raptors are being more 3d printed with less parts, more cooling and higher output ISP. On this next flight.

Subject post index and topic post index are some what difficult as its those key word descriptors that you where doing.
There are 11 pg's and this topic that have the key words LH2 and LOX in them.
Mars Ascent Vehicle - NTO/MMH/HAN vs LOX/LCH4/LH2
So is this a topic of Ascent fuels or is it about Ascent vehicles choice of fuel to use.

The Northgruman design for the Srb made with new components destructed towards the end of a full burn test.

I took a peak and the current code only has the Avarta feature still in it. There is a mod that could be added https://postimages.org/fluxbb

Sounds similar to the helium tank issue that they had.

Sorry was sick with inner ear vertigo and more to the point being in the hospital for 2 days. I am still recovering.
Much like the avatar save/display it's hidden in the post image BBC coding to save the image in the admin options. Most add an upload and since it's not scanned for viruses that how we would loss the site so I think it was removed by fluxbb around 2008 to keep sites from crashing.

#162 Re: Meta New Mars » Housekeeping » 2025-06-14 07:05:36

Currently the forum software does have a save image function for posts, but much like the avatar image it's turned off in the admin contrl panel.

Just got a 1992 Dutchman travel trailer delivered so as to start saving money by not using the motel for my disabled boys.

Design by smashing may not always work as SpaceX May Be Failing to Get Starship Working at All
"All flight 9 has proven is just how much of a dead end Starship is."

SpaceX is still a long way from achieving reusability or a hefty payload capacity. Regarding the former, last week's flight test was the first time SpaceX reused a Super Heavy booster, replacing four of its 33 engines. Regarding the latter, the test had Starship carry a dummy payload of a measly 16 metric tons. Musk has previously promised that Starship will carry 150 tons.

Maybe its time to step back and try for the mid sized rocket....

Remember wear factors on things that rotate in space the ISS solar array came to mind.

AI Overview
Learn more
The rotation of the International Space Station's (ISS) solar wings, specifically the Solar Alpha Rotary Joints (SARJ), can experience wear and tear over time.
Mechanism of Wearout:
The SARJ mechanisms are large rotating joints that orient the solar arrays towards the sun to maximize power generation.
They rotate continuously and slowly, completing one full rotation per orbit (approximately every 90 minutes).
This constant rotation puts stress on the bearing surfaces and can lead to wear, especially if proper lubrication or design specifications are not met.
Issues Encountered:
Lubrication Failure: In 2007, the starboard SARJ suffered a lubrication failure, resulting in severe damage (spalling) to one of the bearing surfaces.
Increased Drag Torque and Vibrations: This issue manifested as high drive motor current draw and increased structural vibrations near the joint.
Kinematic Design Vulnerability: Investigations revealed that the anomaly was caused by a combination of kinematic design vulnerability, inadequate lubrication, and manufacturing flaws.
Mitigation and Repairs:
Cleaning and Lubrication: To mitigate the damage, astronauts performed spacewalks to clean and lubricate the affected bearing surfaces.
Component Replacement: Worn and damaged components were replaced in orbit.
Improved Lubrication: Space-compatible grease was applied to improve lubrication and reduce friction.
Lessons Learned: The experience led to improved practices in designing, manufacturing, and testing mechanisms for use in the space environment.
Impact on Solar Arrays:
While the SARJ issues primarily affect the rotating joint mechanism, the solar arrays themselves are also subject to degradation over time.
Environmental factors like radiation, contamination, and micrometeoroid impacts can contribute to the degradation of the photovoltaic cells.
The original solar arrays were designed for a 15-year service life and have been replaced multiple times to ensure adequate power generation for the station.
In conclusion, the rotation of the ISS solar wings, specifically the SARJ, has encountered wear and tear issues primarily due to lubrication failures and design vulnerabilities. These issues have been addressed through repairs, lubrication, and component replacement, and the lessons learned have been incorporated into future designs. The solar arrays themselves also experience gradual degradation from environmental factors, necessitating periodic replacemen

After getting cut out in the first round for the lunar lander in favor of the starship only to be granded a second chance it would seem they are looking for that end to end to satisfy those old apollo thinkers.

#167 Re: Human missions » Blue Origin » 2025-06-05 17:39:36

Nice to see the Blue Origins lunar lander is still being worked on.

One can think of the engine bell as having functions simular to a trombone in that the vibration starts at the mouth piece and due to changing of slide position you hear the note out of the bell. Change the slide and the sound of the note will shift.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Atqn9WoYRHA

To change a note on a guitar string you apply pressure to the string at a fret and the string when struck produces a note, move the finger to another fret and with the same strike of the string the note shifts.
we would have
101-string-names-400-1.jpg

the next fret is a half step up, and the same for each step the tone will rise

Harmonics of a string is the center of the length of whch you will hear the first  when placing a finger lightly to the string while striking it.

So to change the harmoncis can be done with a piece of sleeve at the intervals to move the sound of the low note that the rocket engine plays.

I started to look at the test stand as one place that is largely different than a starship in flight.

Plus any amplitude when the oscilation has the same phase will sum and contribute to even a heavier amount of vibration adding to trouble for the starships flight.

Here is the BFR engine test preflight

Stumbling block for work progressing has been the near death happening for the contractors wife. Until he can return or turn over work to another I am at a stand still.
Have a line of a camper trailer that could be brought to the property so as to lower monthly costs such as to get funds for others to do the work that is still required before winter.

#174 Re: Science, Technology, and Astronomy » Rocket Engine Design » 2025-05-25 05:23:41

There is one more piece to the puzzle and that is the change of temperature over the length of the fule line as it oscilates. This is a simular item for underground conduit that requires a sleeve that moves to compensate for the cycle of winter to summer.

The sun has set on the United Kingdom for the first time in 200 years. Keir Starmer gave away our islands and a large sum of money, in return for which Mauritious will give us nothing at all. Worst deal in the history of deals, maybe ever.

We're still in twilight though, I believe. Night has not yet fallen. And Diego Garcia is under a lease now (which the next government should void, along with all the payments, and make it clear to Mauritious they aren't having our island) so it's still administered by us. We're holding on by a very thin thread, a very thin thread.

Perhaps, at least, we can finally bury the Yookay and let Albion return...

What to know about the deal to transfer sovereignty of the disputed Chagos Islands

It is sort of like many of the small islands of the Pacific claimed in colonial times that Natives were pushed off from during the world war II.

While it seems that a gradual release of control back to the native peoples for the future it is important so is the need to keep world peace.
