#1351 Re: Science, Technology, and Astronomy » Dark Oxygen, (And Hydrogen as well) » 2024-07-27 10:25:21

We knew that plants were not the only source and until now we did not have the proof. 'Dark oxygen' discovery: Study finds lumps of metal producing 'dark oxygen' on ocean floor

In science class, kids learn that plants need sunlight to do photosynthesis and create the oxygen we breathe. But, oxygen is being produced on the abyssal seafloor, which is so deep that sunlight cannot reach it, according to a study published on Monday in the journal Nature Geoscience.

oxygen is created by metallic “nodules” that look like lumps of coal. But, instead of heating a grill, they’re splitting H2O (water) molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.

The phenomenon was first observed in 2013, when the lead scientist of the study, Andrew Sweetman, a professor at the Scottish Association for Marine Science, was studying the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, an area in the Pacific Ocean between Mexico and Hawaii. He believed his equipment was faulty when it showed that oxygen was being made on the dark sea floor, reports CNN.

Without the panel information I can only say that the input voltage is below 25Volts and that is why the convertor does not output anything. As for saving the batteries of the Powerwall that means not enough power is going out of the system to the grid as to why its ac voltage is so high.

Most electrical items require a startup surge current and that is a problem when looking at just the average run power requirement.

A typical size of a hot water tank is 80 gallons for a small family and while you can do with a 40 gallon single the extra hot water comes in handy.

80 gallons is just over 300 liters.

Sounds like if it's going into output over voltage then the load of the powerwall is not heavy enough. Line isolation to line transformers would help to regulate the voltage so that it would not happen.

I am wondering if the overvoltage happens when the powerwall is checking to see if the line is present coming in.

Keep in mind that any changes to the length and width as well as mass means changes to the spin unit itself must be made as well.
Length will affect larger arc or diameter to allow for it to move freely. Width means that opening will need to be made larger as well. Of course, these also mean the arm must be able to support the much larger mass.

A few reasons come to mind for why shadow is causing is as to how the single panels are wired internally as a wired orred (basically shorted together) which means the node currents are source and sinking to the same circuit wire causing the power to become low. If the segments are diode isolated that solves and causes the input to the MPPT that KBD512 has a loading issue such that the trigger voltage is being loaded down by its inputs.

Yes, seeing the articles now coming up including those saying that he should stop being president as well. That would give a few months for those that need to make up their minds on Pamela Harris as president.

The tank I believe is isolated and a small area heat exchanger is used to to do the transfer and expansion of the working fluid and its at that location the pressure rises and is allowed to flow to the means to make motion.

The monocrystaline solar are said to be the best performer with shade so one needs to see if the issue is at the panel joiner box or down the connection of the power wall.

Calculating How Many Solar Panels You Need

To determine how many solar panels you need, you'll need your annual kWh usage, which you can find by adding up your monthly kWh for January through December from your electricity bill. Alternatively, you can use the NREL PVWatts calculator, which offers a close estimate by looking at several advanced factors.

You'll also need the production ratio of your region or the amount of electricity produced by solar panels under common weather conditions near your address. Thankfully, there isn't much of a fluctuation throughout the United States and you can use the following maximum production ratios from clean energy provider EnergySage:

Northeast: 1.3
Pacific Northwest: 1.15
Southwest: 1.8
Mid-Atlantic: 1.35
Southeast: 1.5
Mountain West: 1.6
West Coast: 1.8
Midwest: 1.3

Finally, you'll need the solar panel's wattage. Divide the annual total wattage needed by the production ratio and then divide that by the wattage of your panels. For this example, let's go with the average of 400 watts per panel. Using an address in Las Vegas as an example, you'll divide 7,157 kWh by 1.8 by 400 W to get approximately 10 panels.

All of which we must then calculate the power wall sizing for how long it might be needed for.

Post is being made from cellphone as something is wrong with the hotspot for the computer. Still sick but somewhat coming out of it slowly.

That is due to the size of the power wall.

A use once system for the compressed air and water heated is about the same as driving an EV that the battery pack is made up of the common AA dry cells,

Experts discover game-changing benefit of installing solar panels at aquaculture farms: 'A win-win solution'

Installing solar panels over fish farms can help boost seafood harvests by 50%

The study looked at an aquaculture site near the mouth of the Yellow River in China's Shandong Province. In 2021, solar panels were installed several meters above the water to generate clean energy. The results have been astonishing.

The solar installation now generates 260 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity per year — enough to power 113,000 homes. At the same time, the shade from the panels keeps the water 3.6 to 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit cooler, which has led to 50% higher yields of shrimp and sea cucumbers.

#1370 Re: Home improvements » DIY pallet home building » 2024-07-07 14:17:45

The towns dump has 4 very long pallets that carried metal sheets for the new shed that was built on the site. I am awaiting approval to be able to get them. These would make a very good floor for the shed that I need to build.

As for the getting them home the car should be able to fit them just nicely.

It's a good question for those that do not have such available to do so on their own.

The Home Depot and Lowes have sleds that allow for material to be taken out of a store so something similar could be created to do just that from bike parts.

Atmospheric density and drag are a function of the shape of the nose. We know that atmospheric aerobraking has to do mostly with the diameter of the flat area of the heat shield so having a sharp shaped nose should reduce the heat and drag.

Repurposed technology used to probe new regions of Mars' atmosphere

To achieve this, ExoMars' Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) teamed up with another ESA spacecraft orbiting the red planet: Mars Express (MEX). The two craft maintain a radio link, so that as one passes behind the planet, radio waves cut through the deeper layers of the Martian atmosphere.

Changes in the atmosphere's refractivity—how it bends the radio waves—cause tiny but detectable shifts in the radio frequencies received by the spacecraft. By analyzing this shift, scientists can determine the density of the lower atmosphere and the electron density in the ionosphere—a charged upper layer of the atmosphere. The technique is called mutual radio occultation.
