regulated is good.  just look at california.

#1077 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 18:03:19

Actually, I dont trust the mainstream, or i do trust what they have, but its not the most current news.  what you see on TV is old news.

Your "common sense" is not so logical to me.  and vice versa, i suppose.  at least on this issue.

#1078 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 17:48:21

Youre calling me uneducated because i disagree?

Jee, if thats not condescending, i dont know what is.

#1079 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 17:42:29

You saw a different interview than i did.

second, saddam wasnt toying.  he used the months when bush was blustering around to hide the weapons somewhere else.

and i could find a source that says bush and saddam were having beer together last night...does that prove anything?  the media can write whatever it wants, ill believe it when i see the context of the source.

#1080 Re: Not So Free Chat » Leaglize drugs - say what u want » 2003-01-02 17:38:42

the will of the state IS subordinate to the federal government, by the very structure.  and war was never declared.  in fact, the south fired the first shot.  was still was never declared.  i know my civil war history...go ahead, quiz me  big_smile

bush has the right to invade peoples privacy like never before, and other powers, i would have to look up specifics.  sorry, too tired from last night to dig that far into my brain  ???

#1081 Re: Not So Free Chat » Leaglize drugs - say what u want » 2003-01-02 17:30:02

bush has the most powers ever granted to a president.  but abe lincoln was a good president.  a civil war would be considered a bit extreme conditions, dont you think?

#1082 Re: Not So Free Chat » Leaglize drugs - say what u want » 2003-01-02 17:12:01

for the record--im indendent (not the party, independent period).  i go with whoever i think will run this country correctly.  some call me right wing, others call me liberal.  my views go across the board.  someone doesnt have to be defined as any wing.  edwards looks like a good guy for next term.

#1083 Re: Not So Free Chat » Leaglize drugs - say what u want » 2003-01-02 17:10:17

but the democrats won the presidential election.  if it werent for bush throwing the war card out every few weeks, the republicans wouldnt have been voted in.  look at bush's horrendous domestic policy.  his economic policy has failed...1.2 trillion dollars would be nice right now.  his policy on the environment sucks...one of few countries that didnt sign kyoto.  His policy on power sucks...oil oil oil (only redemption is support of nuclear power).  His policies on freedom suck...anti-abortion, curtailing the freedoms of americans, closest thing to a dictator america has ever had.

war comes, approval rating goes up.  its a statistic fact.  bush sr lost because the war ended too early in his first term to cover up his economic screw-ups.  george w flounders when it comes to anything but war.  when our leader doesnt know the names of key foreign leaders, theres a problem.

#1085 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 17:01:37

Like what?  The misrepresentations that you have claimed to be such?  You have no evidence that they are?

And can they pull it off?  Well, he built a dozen palaces.  Funny how one day, "No, you cant look there"  and the next "Oh sure, come in!"  And those arent cheap palaces.  Im sure if he went to the UN and said, here, i have a billion dollars, Id like to buy bread for my people, they wouldnt have stopped him.

We also have pictures of Russian garbage trucks that Iraq has converted into mobile missle launchers...for what?  To sprinkle peace dust on israel?

cal, the old testament was jewish.  now, you say they were wrong about christ.  what makes them right about the rest?

#1087 Re: Not So Free Chat » What do you think of this? » 2003-01-02 16:38:47

it takes many months cal, youd be surprised.  i was...

#1088 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 16:37:56

common sense says the guy does, josh.  thats arrogant, to assume your view is right because you say so.

scott ritter said they found anthrax tipped biological weapons back before they were thrown out.  i dont know what interview youre talking about.

#1089 Re: Planetary transportation » maglev - long distance travel » 2003-01-02 16:36:02

government project.  yet another reason why i believe mars will need a strong central democracy...a strong government can get big projects done.

#1090 Re: Human missions » We as a civilization need a manned mission to Mars - It is a step toward where we need to be. » 2003-01-02 16:29:18

Yeah, I had given that thought too.  Maybe we should send a joint letter to the different space advocacy societies.   big_smile

#1091 Re: Space Policy » Chinese Space Program? - What if they get there first » 2003-01-02 13:58:30

i saw a similar article from another source days ago, shortly after shenzou, (4 was it?) was launched.  good for them, at least somebody is making progress.  and with their political direction, i dont think we should fear space turning red...china will be a democracy in the next 20 to 50 years, if not in the next decade, in my opinion.

#1092 Re: Not So Free Chat » Greenpeace infomercial » 2003-01-02 08:02:49

Yes, we should have an infomercial.  Follow the same political advertising techniques greenpeace uses, but back it up with real facts.  show blurred pictures of polluting fossil fuel plants, bright pictures of clean nuclear plants, and so on.

show video taken from the moon, spaceships going into space, etc.  a closing line like, "With nuclear power, we as humans can progress into the future, with clean, abundant, safe energy to support us.

#1093 Re: Not So Free Chat » God, Creation, and the Universe Explained! - Life, the Universe, and Everything. » 2003-01-02 07:51:39

so what you are really saying cal, is that you merely follow what a person wrote down, and then was later interpreted by the catholic church, which was later interpreted by someone else, and someone else, and so on.

well, im convinced.

#1094 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 07:48:46

And if something is nuclear and biological weapons?

just because you dont believe a claim doesnt make it false.  i think youd be very surprised to know what the government keeps secret...what they know that we dont.

#1096 Re: Human missions » We as a civilization need a manned mission to Mars - It is a step toward where we need to be. » 2003-01-02 07:42:07

as i progressed in typing, i tried to get it away from UN dependence, as you might have noticed...i think my idea would work better independent, like you said, because the funding comes from outside of the UN.

#1097 Re: Not So Free Chat » President Bush - about bush » 2003-01-02 05:21:02

oh, im sure they have something.  and ill laugh if and when it comes out.

of course, everybody will say we framed them.

#1098 Re: Human missions » U.S. conspiracy to keep humanity from outer space - revealed » 2003-01-01 21:36:30

just because you think your view is right, doesnt make it the absolute truth.

and tell me where i said evolution has stopped?

i saw the deleted post.

#1099 Re: Human missions » U.S. conspiracy to keep humanity from outer space - revealed » 2003-01-01 21:23:07

youre nitpicking.  the point is that beings without the means to create a system of currency obviously wont, so the argument that life hasnt had it for X years is invalid, because life was incapable up until evolution bestowed new abilities unto life.

#1100 Re: Human missions » U.S. conspiracy to keep humanity from outer space - revealed » 2003-01-01 20:53:10

tell me how a single cell is ABLE to create a brain.  they have no free will-no consciousness.  that would be like saying a doorknob didnt make money.

ive seen documentaries where some chimps make tools, others get food, and so forth.  the alpha male and female positions in a wolfpack-it is a measure of the value of their work.  the "best" wolves get the best positions.  just because they dont have coins, doesnt make it any less of a value system, which is exactly what money is.

yes, the queen and princes do not have to work, and are cared for by other ants, who provide all their needs.  other ants stay in the colony.  others work.  they receive food and shelter as per their duty.  this is a form of currency as well.  ever had an ant farm?
