and once you go to apply for a job, the skin tone shows.  you can dress a white person up to look rich, but a black person always comes with that nagging preconceived idea of poverty, ignorance, etc.

it doesnt happen every day.  maybe one in a thousand make their way out.  its far easier for whites.  ive seen black people with more qualifications get less. 

george jefferson is a pipe dream, a show of the hopes and dreams of people.  for most, the only seemingly hopeful way out is through sports, and thats a whole different animal.

No, the guys anecdotes look shiny on the surface, but theyre weak and baseless.  he takes a bunch of nice sounding stuff, slaps it together, and calls it history.

the guy is an amateur historian trying to create a controversial re-write of history.  considering the chinese didnt reach europe, the logical path of their desire, i doubt they could have crossed the pacific.  why dont we see chinese colonies anywhere in the pacific?

The more funding the better, for highlift.  Just a few choice ads in magazines, just to spark business interest, and public interest.  a little could get a lot in return. 

and heavy patents on CNT would negate the space elevator being copied.  If the CNT doesnt get out, the elevator cant be copied.

The problem I see is that Highlift isnt advertising enough.  I think the Mars Society should make itself more for-profit.  after all, Dr. Zubrins plans are touted as being based on sound economics and profitability.

imho, NASA should be privatized.  I have had this idea about several government agencies (transportation, etc.).  it would force them to cut the pork and do whats lucrative.  get rid of bad contracts, sell space (the government could impose partial regulations on acceptable renters), etc.  to make money.

15%-19% of the top 20% are what we refer to as middle class.  they do most of that useful spending, the spending which affects our economy. 

the lower 80% doesnt make enough to put the money into the economy.  we should cut out the income tax for people making less than $15k .  Why do kids working a summer job, and who make more than $750 dollars have to give an income tax?  we shouldnt be taking away from these people, we should be keeping the money in the hands of those who cant get by as it is.
