Why Boeing? And why 10%  How about total government control over all that is found and the government itself mining all these resources which would then be required to be equally distributed to benefit all involved not just a company but all people. If I was in control I would put our soldiers to work mining resources. There would be no need for expensive contractors or companies like boeing ripping off the people.

Is it possible to build a giant spacecraft assembled on Earth with everything needed for a 10 year mission to Mars? I know that sounds unbelievable but someone has to know on this forum that we can build it. What type of technology do we currently possess that could accomplish this task? We need something similar to the external fuel pods on the outside of the space shuttle that are discarded once were in orbit. We just enough power to get the craft up into space then its real power system would kick in once it got a safe distance from earth. I propose something to do with nuclear power could a giant fusion reactor be sufficient to get the giant spacecraft to Mars? When it got to Mars it needs to be able to land fully intact is that also possible and how would that mission succeed. I am calling on all the best minds on this forum to think real hard because I am serious about colonizing Mars I too am tired of NASA wasting valuable time. Please if possible don't use the same system NASA uses to estimate the cost. We won't be using expensive contractors to build this spacecraft but the cheapest and safest that we can find.

I think we should setup independent governments on each and every planet we annex. They would all be answerable to a central or universal type government but would be more like state governments similar to our own current system but of course with clearer rules we must not allow any gray areas if possible. There would also be a constitution setup on each planet we annex as our own. The only way the constitution could be suspended by the central government is if there is evidence of a global threat facing that planet where that constitution is in effect. This is just my opinion and I welcome all ideas we must stick together all mankind if we our to survive.

Does anyone know if it is possible to genetically modify a plant or tree to resist temperatures such as -100 degrees? I don't want to wait to warm the planet up we got to find a way to grow plants and trees on MARS now in the condition its currently in. Is there also anyway we could produce light on Mars without the sun and would a plant or tree grow in that type of environment with artificial light? House plants in my own home grow without light from the sun there just growing using the light from our lightbulbs so it has to be possible. I know certain trees have become resistant to fire so there has to be a way to genetically modify a plant or tree to resist extreme cold temperatures. We could still attempt to warm up the planet the way most of you have proposed but we should start now to grow plants and trees it would be a very important breakthrough for mankind if we succeed

The first thing we need to do is find a way to get enough plants and trees to MARS. The trees and plants would thrive on the Carbon Dixoide on MARS and produce oxygen yeah it would take along time but there is no easy solution so why waste time lets begin now maybe a forest will popup at least in that area where the forest is one could breath and that's where we would build our factories and facilities
