Re: Failed mission food reserves run out cannabalisim?

Has anyone look into the fact there may be a time delay in the mission food reserves dwindle astronauts look at one another for a food source? Who is most likely to kill another exploration team member to eat? My first guess would be from the Jesus religion who probably do it as a ritual on earth drink jesus blood and eat Jesus flesh there may be hope of reaching destinations and food sources even if suffering a Jesus cult memmber will be the first to hack off your leg for a meal  and give a jesus quote on how good and ritious it is so I wouldnt use a Jesus blood drinker flesh eater  on a mission to mars or any other place.

Re: Failed mission food reserves run out cannabalisim?

During ISS Expedition 10, commander Leroy Chiao was discovered to have eaten an excessive quantity of rations and additional food was provided during the next Progress resupply visit to ensure the safety of flight engineer Salizhan Sharipov. Even though there have been no recorded incidents of astronaut cannibalism, people have been religiously flayed alive in public Internet forums.

ps. I hope this is not considered feeding the troll smile

pps. Warning, this thread will soon be moved to the Martian Chronicles forum

Note to self: DO NOT get into a spacecraft with Bentherdonthat.

This was 'looked at' by (British author) John Wyndham in a short story in (about) the 1950s (???); a very long time ago anyway. I don't remember the title but I'm sure someone else in the forum will; I read it in an anthology called 'The Seeds of Time'.

Hi Belinda, this thread may be of interest to you, I mention cannibalization toward the end: http://www.newmars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=132

My basic feeling is that we can't really live on Mars without self-sustainable greenhouses and the like.
