*Mr. Doohan passed away at 5:30 a.m. today in his Redmond, WA home. Aged 85, died of pneumonia and Alzheimer's.
Rest in peace, Scotty.

P.S.: A former coworker of mine once met Mr. Doohan. She was working as a waitress in a restaurant he visited, while making an appearance in a nearby small city. Lisa said he was very gracious, kind, left a generous tip, etc. She got his autograph too, of course.

Aye.

*Hi. George Takei was also one of the better actors, IMO. He never over-acted, was always very natural, poised and cool.

Mr. Doohan's space burial delayed by dud rocket
:? Oh how terrible. Engine troubles on the rocket. Rather ironic, and they give a quote from Star Trek.
His space burial is delayed until at least February. ::shakes head::
You'll get there, Scotty. Warp speed ahead!

The other part of this is that it is a flight for the Falcon 1 which is to take the place of the disconninued lower atlas and delta versions. Falcon 1 has yet to make a flight and for the alternate space rocket makers it is proving even harder than they could have imagined to get into this business.
