Say you had a circular base greenhouse Radius = 56 meters. 100 meter of water below. Total equivalent water volume of 100 x 100 x 100 meter cube. Reflectors above, it would track the Sun to optimize operation. The excess heat used to warm up the water below.

In emergencies, during power shortages, the heat from the water could generate power and save the colony. Perhaps for a Martian year, allowing supplies from Earth to arrive.

Run a heat engine to the cold air outside.
Theoretical efficiency 1-T2/T1
Gets especially cold during dust storms, when low photovoltaic output.
Efficiency would rise when most needed.
