Re: Viewing Mars Tonight

Somewhere East, it's a pretty big reddish 'star' the best way to make sure is that it does not 'shimmer' or 'twinkle' unlike real stars.

Re: Viewing Mars Tonight

Not at all a silly question.

Here are the sky maps for early evening ...

This one you hold above your head ...

Remember that Mars will rise in the East and set in the West as the Earth turns throughout the night, so it might be easiest to look for the surrounding constellations, like Taurus.  Don't expect too much without a telescope.  Even binoculars will help.  Good luck  smile

Re: Viewing Mars Tonight

Argh. This topic eventually convinced me to flip out the old Newton, and as i predicted in another thread, the view moved me, confused me...

I guess I really am a Martian, faraway from home... I'm pretty sure the blankets will feel unnaturally heavy again. Like I'm not built for this gravity.

They say that your incarnations don't have to be in order.  Maybe you were a Martian in a future life  wink
