Bla Bla Bla, can you try to narrow the scope of what you talking about so we deal with one issue at a time. Well, I suppose this is an advertisement for nuclear space.com at least what you claim is nuclear space.com. Anyway, if griffin said that he was talking about nuclear power to provide power for life support, not for propulsion. Perhaps he may also be thinking of a nuclear thermal stage for trans mars injection and this would improve the mass delivered to mars a bit. As for Orion it is only practical if you are doing things on a large scale and ignoring politics. Orion won't be cheep or simple and will have numerous political obstacles.
