Re: Banning policies

So I noticed Clark has been banned...

Anyone care to explain why exactly?

The supposedly unexisting rules here on this board had been exceeded?

okay, so I half read the topic in which he began to go 'over the top', but to me it sounded more than a half-jesting, trolling ramble.

I've seen worse things here. And people got away with it.

So: are there rules or not?

(EDIT:) Oh, and no PM's please. Enough cloak and dagger stuff already  roll

Re: Banning policies

That is unfortunate if Clark has gotten banned. He has been a good contributor here for a long time. I wonder what was contained in the over the top post. Anyway, I noticed there is more profanity lately. Perhaps it is just a temporary ban just to send the message that the boards are going to be moderated more intensely. I am curious about the details. Nosy me smile

Re: Banning policies

clark hasn't been banned, I don't see anything indicating that at all. Where do you see that Rxke?

Re: Banning policies

Oh.

Well... His posts show no 'nr of posts etc' behind his nick, his profile is utterly empty... I thought that was errr... a sign of being out of the 'database'

Nevermind, probably just another Clark Weirdness. You can delete this stuff as far as I'm concerned, before Clark comes laughing at me, heehee.

Re: Banning policies

He may not have posted in 2 days or so (which is admittedly unusual for one of our most active members), but that doesn't mean the banstick was set loose. smile

I took clark's outburst the other day as overzealous stupid rambling, myself, I personally can't take it too seriously, even though several people here did. When the thread was unlocked clark edited his posts, which suggests he knew he was being a bit rash, so I figured it was done with.

I think that some people here do take this too seriously.

I have been meaning to write some rules, but the problem with this is that it requires enforcement, and frankly I'm tired of people telling me how to run this place... I do check it daily now, but I'm not here all the time yaknow. Just consider a rule such as "no ad homs," I'd be freaking editing posts 3-4 times a day to enforce it! If I didn't, then people would complain that I'm deleting "some" ad homs but not all, and that I'm biased and so on and so forth.

But yeah... no one is banned, no IPs are banned, everything is cool at the moment.

Yeah. Ecept maybe for that tingling feeling emanating from the superpowers bestowed upon one, being an Admin is far from the greatest job on Earth, I can imagine.
