Penumbral eclipses are notoriously difficult to observe. Nevertheless, a subtle yet distinct shading should be visible across the northern half of the Moon during greatest eclipse, around 09:55 UT. For North Americans, that's Sunday morning at 2:55 a.m. PDT (5:55 a.m. EDT).

Obtained September 1996 by a satellite which had an onboard infrared telescope called SPIRIT III. The image was taken during a 70-minute totality. The brightest spot is the crater Tycho. Interesting to see the "distribution" of warmer and cooler lunar regions.

*The eclipse occurred at a god-awful hour and being my weekend (getting extra rest), I didn't catch it. Someone did and here's a nice photo of this partial eclipse:
