http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u … 10813]Most foolish American celebrities

*But what's your idea of the most foolish agency, idea, blunder, etc. as space exploration in 2004 went?

My vote goes for the Hubble debacle and the continued idiotic, never-ending wrangling about it.  (I'm *-not-* intending for this to be yet another Hubble debate thread; we've enough of those already)

What got your goat in 2004, regarding the space exploration realm?

The presumption that Ballistic Missile Defence, in this day and age of mixed real and dummy multiple warheads, is anything but a silly idea.

The continuous idiotic repetition among the media that the VSE will cost about one or two trillion dollars. At least.

I mean, come on.
