Today I was very pleasantly surprised to see bi-partisan blog opposition to the pending bankruptcy bill.

As a lawyer I can tell you the bankrucpty bill is terrible, atrocious, unjust and just plain dumb. I am pleased to see there are some red-voters who agree.
This is not a Democrat v GOP issue, its conected pols versus ordinary people.

Booyah, we have a winner!
Republicans and Democrats, repeat after me: "My Party doesn't care about me. Tricksy, false. They stole it from us, the thieves."
I'm in a loopy, sleep-deprived and mildly irate mood, as you probably guessed. While I don't much care for this law I find myself unable to get really worked up over it. Partly because I just recited the above mantra, and partly because we already have so many unjust laws that screw the little guy that one more on the yoke just doesn't matter. <shrug>
If we're really concerned about laws that screw Joe Public, let's look at the bigger picture. Property tax, for starters. A piece of paper says you own your house. At regular intervals you get a notice to pay the state for living there. If you don't, they evict you. How is that not renting? Plenty of people would suffer far less under unemployment or medical catastrophe if they didn't have to worry about the state taking their house. Friggin' commies.
Car insurance, now there's a scam. "Why should I insure my car, it's a piece of crap?. . . Accident? Injury? Other people? What the hell do they have health insurance for again? Oh, they don't. Sure, I'll pay for it then. Just let me jot down your commie-- excuse me, policy number."
And let's not even get started on how they jack up the rates for speeding tickets, that is a racket and a half. Limits are set artificially low, to drive at the posted speed is so far below the flow of traffic as to be dangerous, but it's damn profitable. You pay a hundred bucks or so, which they claim doesn't go the court or the police, wouldn't want an obvious conflict of interest. What are "court costs" if not money for the court, I ask? They hate that. Then your insurance company says speed kills, pay up knowing full well that numerous federal studies can't back that up. C... Thought I was gonna call 'em commies eh? No, Capitalist swine!
And you can't even begin to pay all this until after some of your wages have been seized. You work in exchange for pay, it's an even exchange. They (those elected Party hacks, remember the mantra) take a percentage. That means you are compelled to work, at least some of the time, without compensation. Labor without pay... There's a word for that... Screwed, I think. Something with an "s" anyway.
Yep, the little guy's gettin' screwed here, now we can't even charge all this other crap and default.

Yeah, well, whatever. . .
But the thought of dogs and cats doing, well - - you know.
Regardless of the importance of the bill, some of the cross-dressing comments at these blogs are pretty funny.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying i favor this law at all. It just seems a little late in the game to be outraged at government efforts to screw the "little man".
Of course calling people "commie" has a certain therapeutic value.
Ah hell, as soon as this HD-ripped Star Wars trailer finishes loading I'm going to sleep.
