Re: Merry Christmas - Christ is born
I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new Year. I wonder, how many of you read the story of the birth of the Saviour to your kids over the holidays, or go to church or anything like that? Is the Christmas holidays maybe all about Santa nowadays? I hope you will be able to enjoy white Christmas like myself here in Iceland, best wishes,

Actually, the timing and many of the rituals of Christmas have nothing to do with the birth of Jesus but were absorbed by the Church from pagan solstice rituals for the purpose of easing conversion of those pagans to the new religion. Marketing the Christ, if you will.
That said, a joyuos Solstice to you and yours.

I know that, but as we stole this fest from the pagans, Christmas is on the way to be restolen for the beliew in Santa Claus or other such nonsense it seems, thankfully do we not have Santa Claus, but similar devalutation of the christian ethics behind Christmas is underway.
