Re: new UK flood mapping - could it be used on Mars?

has anybody heard about the new UK flood mapping facility?

You just enter your postcode to find whether you are a flood risk, click http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/su … 1&lang=_e] > HERE <  to check YOUR flood risk  ??? e.g. try mine KT1 1QE

You mean, calculating the 'shorelines-flooding regions' once the amount of subsurface water is known?

IIRC, NASA/JPL or someone else has such a program, there's been disussion going on on Djellison' site about that...

Re: new UK flood mapping - could it be used on Mars?

It takes a long time and this is with the UK having a full ordinance survey done. Large parts of Britain has still to be done try to get a Scotland flood map. We may well have maps of what flooding will cause on a terraformed Mars actually it will be essential, but it will take a long time and there is no guarantees especially as topography changes with time and wear.
