Re: Something practical - Maybe we can do

Mars Society President Robert Zubrin commented; "Congress needs to get the message, the American people want a space program that is actually going somewhere. Skeptics in congress should not say 'no.' Instead they should say 'show me,' and provide the funds necessary for planning to begin."

Much better.  big_smile

I'll go if the CIA says I can.

*Sounds good to me.  Any effort to get us out of the dolldrums we've been in...

I particularly like Zubrin's comment:  "Congress needs to get the message, the American people want a space program that is actually going somewhere. Skeptics in congress should not say 'no.' Instead they should say 'show me,' and provide the funds necessary for planning to begin."

I saw an article about an opinion poll at space.com a while back (unscientific, and I can't remember what agency did the polling, unless the web site itself); if the reporting in that article was correct, I was surprised at the number of people who are in favor of returning to the Moon and then to Mars.  It was something like a Gallup poll, IIRC.

Well, we'll see.  In the meantime, I'm still writing my gov't representatives.

Re: Something practical - Maybe we can do

Clark, your mentioning of CIA reminded me of something...

Was it that what that ISA guy was talking about?

Re: Something practical - Maybe we can do

Is anyone else here interested in actually doing this? I'm giving it some serious consideration. My Representative gives the impression of being reasonable about such matters, don't have much hope for my Senators though.  Friggin' Carl Levin...

So, anyone up for a mid-July excursion to that wretched hive of scum and villainy that is our nation's capitol? I know a good steakhouse in Georgetown... big_smile
