Huh?
What do you mean? Critique on how the board is set up, or critique on eachother? What do you mean with "Message Board Adequate?"
(I don't get it... )

I mean Etiquette
Anyway to begin,
-Long winded personal history does not add in the explanation of a technical question. (no names mentioned)

Oh.
Never saw 'adequate' being used in that way (scrambles for dictionary)
Weird, can't find it... Is this a typical 'board' expression or does it get used broader?
(Edit:) ok, we cross-posted... To get off to a good start, you can start flaming me for rubbing it in!

*Adjusts Tinfoil hat*
You mean the one behind the mirror, or the one hidden in that tree across the street?
*Serious* No; i did not misunderstand you, what you did was making an educated guess, from my profile... Simple.
And yet... I was confused for a moment, because i *DID* just visit an article on state-of-the-art (future) digital SLR's, but given my educational state in that branch, that was, after all, predictable behaviour from my part. So I was looking at camera's, only minutes ago... And then you say "that camera you've been looking at"
Creepy, but nothing that ashtonishing, come to think about it.
Now i understand why some people *really* think/thought you are CIA, people tend to forget how much info about themselves they scatter around the 'net... And then when other people seem to miraculously know things about them they thought was not common knowledge... Like the people that make a homepage, with info about their job, pictures of their house in it... Very convienient for thieves, easy to deduce the working hours, they get an inventory AND a plan of the house, sigh... Then they are amazed to find their house emptied from all the expensive stuff, like the thieves knew exactly where everything was, owner mumbling "how the hell did they know that was an expensive painting on the second floor?"

Or maybe, I am Santa.

I try to visualise Santa fraternising with one-eyed hobo's on a freight-train, passing a bottle of cheap red wine... Occasionally tapping away at his wireless notebook...
Hmmm... Convincing.

Well, a diet of cookies and milk only goes so far, and the sleigh was in the shop. As for the typing, the elves take care of that, but they are horrible splelers.
The one eyed hobo has been right so far. Two for three, just waiting for confirmation on the third one now.

*I don't think this is a good idea. Why create a thread for flaming at all?
Interpersonal problems can be dealt with via private messages or e-mail.
Let's not encourage flaming, okay?
Someone suggested something similar to this a few months ago; Adrian knocked that idea flat.
I'd really like to see New Mars kept flame-free.

What about constructive criticism?
Or how about if no names are mentioned?

What about constructive criticism?
Or how about if no names are mentioned?
*Why not just keep it private (private messenger, e-mails)?
Even if no names are mentioned or criticism is "constructive," I have a feeling this'll turn out a lot like the well-intended game people sometimes play of sitting in a circle and taking turns with 1 person pointing out 1 fault in another person, and going around the circle with that. No matter how nicely it's pointed out...
IMO, some things are best left unsaid (and yeah...I know how hard that can be!!). Or, at best, said person-to-person, privately.

Dosen't private correspondance defeat the purpose of this?

And what, exactly, is the purpose?
Will flaming people publicly in a special thread actually achieve anything? If you have a problem, pm someone.
Anyway, getting back on topic, wasnt someone saying something about santa?
