Twenty five thousand posts! Way to go NewMars!
And I believe the honor of number 25000 goes to a new member, eroticmars.
Its a shame I am too paranoid to click that link - - God only knows where it will take me - - can someone I trust test the waters and report back?

Yay! Congrats to NewMars!
And that link seems to be a link to a book about "faces on Mars." So yeah, nothing explicit.

Thanks! I was afraid we had been invaded by a more malicious troll than that. Sorry, Eroticmars, for my suspicions.

Hehe, we just broke our old "users online" record of 17 (which was made on the 7th). Nicely done!
Might need a new host soon...

It is not bad at all. I wouldn't be surprised if we were the foremost Mars-only forum on the Internet - and why not? Makes me guilty about neglecting the main website... bleh.
Well, for the moment I'm glad that these forums are getting busy. I should imagine that at least for as long as the NASA rovers are alive, we'll be seeing a lot of new faces around here.

Just so you don't feel so bad about the main site, it's been my experience that most people just come here from the Mars Society link, and skip over New Mars completely (they often assume that "New Mars" just stands for the forum name).
But yeah, I'm just as disappointed in myself for not updating the Wiki. I thought that'd be good to do, but I just found that I didn't have the time or energy and that Wikipedia is so much better from several different fronts.

Damn, we broke another record today. 25 users online at once. I'm glad Adrian upgraded, we ought to be better suited for the onslaught that'll probably happen when Opportunity lands.

Over a thousand new posts in the last 9 days. Thats about 41,000 per year.
Josh, how is the bandwidth holding up?

No clue Bill.
IkonBoard would do good to have a bandwidth meter, but it doesn't as far as I know.

I've been thinking about that, too... Aren't we posting too much nice pictures online lately? (I used too, anyway..)

Stop worrying about the bandwidth, guys We're currently transferring 200-300MB per day, with a bandwidth limit of 700MB per day. What's more, that bandwidth limit applies for the month, not for each day, so in effect we have 21GB per month. We are using approximately 30-40% of that. It will be a long time before we have to worry about bandwidth.

My recent post was not well written. I was far more impressed by a 1000 posts in 9 days. Compared with a year ago, this place is hopping.

Yeah Bill, you're not imagining it. The last four months of New Mars activity have shown almost exponential growth patterns (though I personally think we've hit our peak as far as useage goes, it will probably spike again when Opportunity lands).
