For RobertDyck re Large Ship initiative...
It is good to see you back working on Large Ship.
You were in a good place at the end of 2024. You stopped work at that time and let a year and a half go by.
Now, it appears you have lost momentum and from my perspective, you seem to be trying to rebuild from essentially ground zero.
At the end of 2024, you had a 5000 ton ship with GW Johnson providing guidance for travel arrangements.
All you were responsible for was the very small part of the flight in which your vessel reaches escape velocity after a massive boost by one of GW's space tugs. You had nothing to worry about at Mars because GW was ready to meet you on approach and ease your passengers into a safe orbit at an altitude attainable by ground transfer vehicles. GW had designed those as well.
You were (and still are) responsible for the safety and well being of the passengers who entrusted their lives to you.
When you stopped work we were just beginning to think seriously about assembly of Large Ship on orbit.
Your passengers are not going to be indigents. They are going to be wealthy individuals, or persons funded by well heeled organizations.
Your accommodations for these passengers needs to be be literally first class.

FYI ... https://newmars.com/forums/viewtopic.ph … 25#p241725
Update Friday....
I've been thinking about your observation about using AI to solve the aerobraking problem you are studying.
It occurred to me there may be a way you can enlist your favorite AI to help.
Depending upon the AI, you might be able to give it a copy of GW's spreadsheet and ask it to see if the spreadsheet can solve the problem you are trying to solve. GW has tried to show the way forward, but ultimately you have to make the journey. Perhaps your favorite AI can help.
I'd like to point out that if you decide to take the risk of trying this, you may become the recipient of advice and guidance others would find helpful.
If you decide to publish to the forum, most AI's can write BBCode that meets our requirements. I have published the guidelines many time in this forum, but it is entirely possible you have never seen any of that work. It might be helpful if you had a guide to publishing BBCode on NewMars forum. I'll think about creating that.

For RobertDyck re the Iran War ...
https://newmars.com/forums/viewtopic.ph … 84#p241784
Thank you for asking those reasonable questions...
I only have incomplete information, so hopefully others will help to fill in details...
My impression is that Iran was far better prepared for the US and Israeli attack than their combined intelligence services had any idea.
As a consequence, all the bases which the US thought it could use in the Middle East are denied.
It seems likely that both the Russians and the Chinese have supplied Iran with accurate targeting data. An example is the destruction of an expensive (and rare) radar surveillance aircraft that was sitting on the ground in a neighboring country. It didn't need to sit there very long either. A satellite passes overhead, and minutes later the exact coordinates are fed into the drone or missile targeting system.
At least 18 US service people have died due to Iranian attacks, and many (several hundred) have been injured.
I also suspect that the resupply missions you proposed would interfere with combat operations, and the amount of material to be transported would be a tiny fraction of the daily requirements of 4000 people.
In short, I suspect that the failures of resupply have been addressed to the utmost of US capability, and those were found wanting, due in no small measure to the capabilities of the victim defending itself.

For RobertDyck re Business Calendar for Mars...
You are identified in the history of the forum as the inspiration for the Calendar we have been tracking for the last three full Martian years.
For that reason, I would like to call to your attention the further development of this calendar.
In the transition from Year 38 to Year 39, we extended Sol 668 by the number of hours needed to align the Business Calendar for Mars with the Astronomical Calendar. Thus, we now know precisely how long New Year's Eve on Mars will be.
How we deal with skip days is not yet settled. A proposal on the table is to count a skip day as one in which a Mars day does NOT start in an Earth day. The first Sol what that will occur is #24. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Thank you again for your guidance a number of Earth Years ago, when we embarked upon this venture.
FYI .. we have also identified Airy Crater as the location that marks the site of the geographical zero point, and as the site above which the sky will be recorded at midnight for the visible calendar image for the physical calendar. For now we will use a planetarium program image but eventually, when a camera is available at Airy Crater, we can show the actual sky.

Knowing you don't have time to follow developments closely, here are some (to me surprising) results.
The design appears to be good for 200 Earth Years.

Special note from ChatGPT to RobertDyck:
And please extend my appreciation to the original calendar designer. His underlying design has survived a rather demanding encounter with celestial mechanics!
I'll be ready to continue with the Daily Predictor tomorrow.

I'm interested in your post about data centers and cooling ... https://newmars.com/forums/viewtopic.ph … 97#p241997
You put that in Chat as a reasonable launching place. Data Centers are likely to remain a subject of conversation for a while.
Data Centers are a technology and a lot of Science and Engineering are involved, so that Category might be a reasonable location for a topic on Data Centers.

For RobertDyck re Money ....
A news item in the Internet feed caught my eye this morning ...
Swieden has been eliminating cash over recent years, and most transactions there are performed via digital transmission. Few shops can handle cash.
Sweden is subject to the threat of invasion from Russia, so the government there has asked citizens to keep a small amount of cash at home and to use it occasionally.
I bring this up in the context of money on Mars.
I asked Google what backs the money of Switzerland (as representative of the region) and it reported that the money is backed by the country's reputation.
I expect something similar is true for other Scandinavian countries.
On Mars, use of physical money would be an unnecessary expense.
If you lived in a community of one kind, and your neighbor over the horizon is a community from another Nation, gold would have no value, but oxygen or even just plain water would, if you had to physically trade something.
My guess is that water will become the "gold" of the Martian economy.
I just don't see paper/cash ever starting there.
Update PS ... I read your posts about politics with great care. They are always (or almost always) well reasoned and free of excess emotional content.
I understand that the present era tests your ability to keep calm to the utmost. Thanks for keeping a lid on when provocation is extreme.

Thanks for this update and clarification of the separation of responsibilities.
I understand that there may have been delay in warning Ukraine of recent ballistic missile and drone attacks, which prevented civilians from going to shelters before the arrival of the weapons.
I thought your recent summary of Putin's ambitions was about right. Those ambitions may well have included damage to the United States governing system over a number of years of steady erosion of the strength of the society.;
If that is the case, then it would appear that a significant proportion of the population fell for the psychological operations.

If you have time to read Dr. Muller's posts in one of the Moon topics, you will surely recognize the similarity to Robert Zubrin's idea in The Case for Mars.
You will probably also notice the similarity of the elongated orbit to designs by GW Johnson!
I have not read or heard this exact proposal before, so it may in fact be published here for the first time.
Never-the-less, you are familiar with much of the history of space flight and proposals over the decades.

A strong competent woman asserting that the current male leadership of the US are "man children".

Tom,
I didn't see that woman. But I don't believe it's male vs female. There are incompetent female leaders in the US as well. I could point to Marjorie Taylor Greene, or Elizabeth Warren. I disagree with some positions of AOC, but I think she is quite competent.
As for Canada, we had a female Prime Minister in 1993. She was... bad. She lasted ~3 months. Helena Guergis was a Conservative MP in Canada 2004-2011. She was beautiful, but an air-head. However, I could point to many female MPs of both major parties in Canada who are quite competent. So again, I do not believe it's male vs female.

In post #285 you posted a link that shows US voting patterns. There's a website that aggregates polls to predict election results in Canada. The website doesn't take polls of its own, just averages every poll that has been published.
338Canada The name refers to the 338 federal electoral districts in Canada.
I mentioned the 2 major parties in Canada, but Canada has more than 2 parties. A third party is the NDP. It's very left-wing or "progressive". Think Elizabeth Warren. AOC would be very at home there. The NDP has never been elected to form the federal government. The "Official Opposition" refers to the political party that has the second most seats. The NDP has only formed the Official Opposition once in Canadian history, and is unlikely to in the foreseeable future. But it does currently form the Provincial government in a few provinces. NDP formed the Provincial government once in Ontario, which was so bad that voters in that province will never do that again. It has no prospects in Quebec. But the NDP does have prospects in other provinces.
So you can explore that if you want.

I agree with that assessment, but I don't see any evidence that this is gender related. The main problem seems to be with the U.S. electorate (of which half are women, I suppose...). As long as they behave like voting cattle that is controlled by campaign donations, and can be brainwashed to the point where they are willing to elect convicted criminals and patholgical liars as their leaders, the situation is hard to remedy.

Dr Muller,
Putin also convicted his political opponents of various made-up crimes so that he could cling to power. Your only disagreement with his style of governance seems to be who he labels a criminal.
I've noticed that people who have an excessively high opinion of themselves also tend to have an excessively low opinion of others. People vote for their own interests, which don't necessarily align with yours. You are welcome to tell yourself whatever fiction best suits your proclivities, and they are free to continue voting for their interests. You may not like it, but that is why we have voting rights. The only problem with the US electorate is that they're not doing what you think they should, based upon your own beliefs and interests. Americans are allowed to disagree with your opinions and beliefs, and to express them by voting for candidates you don't like.

The difference between Russia and the U.S. used to be that the latter had an independent juditional system, so that convictions are more likely based on actual criminal behavior. And whether the people think their interests have been served by the current administration or not will become clear in the upcoming midterms. And we already have a good idea where those will be going.
So if they voted to serve their own interests (which I don't condemn, even though it would be more noble to vote for the common interest), they apparently voted wrong. What makes that stupid is that it was entirely foreseeable; they were only lied to in a limited way ('no new wars'). But most of the policies promised in the campaign were guranteed to be immensely harmful to the population, to the point were some people voted for what turned out to be loss of their health-insurance benefits or even their own deportation.

Dr Muller,
Democrats are the ones who actively target their political enemies. If they can't use the electorate to get their way, they use the legal system. If they can't use the legal system, they immediately resort to violence. As far as the midterms are concerned, every incumbent party in living memory has lost seats during the midterms, so that is what I expect to happen during these midterms. Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden certainly did.
According to you, people don't know their own interests and "voted wrong", because they're "stupid". Hmm... Let me think.
What common cause do I have with someone who uses the legal system and violence to get their way?
What common cause do I have with someone who refuses to enforce the borders and opens my country to hordes of illegal alien criminals?
What common cause do I have with someone who calls me every name imaginable and tells me how much they hate America and/or their fellow Americans?
What common cause do I have with someone who doesn't know that males can't become females, nor females become males, by mere verbal declaration?
But, yeah, you're right. If I wasn't "stupid", according to you, I would vote for people who advocate for political violence, send illegal alien invaders to rape and murder my fellow Americans, hate the very country that gave them everything they have (including the right to behave like an ungrateful spoiled brat while the best life has to offer is handed to them on a silver platter), and want men in my daughters' bathroom at school. Whether the Republicans win or lose elections at the midterms, I don't have any common cause with people who believe or want those things. None.

Ummm... I never knew it was the democrats that stormed the capitol. Or is the 'political violence' you are referring to the fact that these hoodlums were arrested and jailed?
The law is normally a tool that is only effective against people who transgress it. At least in civilized countries...
And it seems to me most of the points you mention are more philosphical than of practical interest. If I lived in the U.S. I would worry more about gun violence than about queers, and more about the cost of living than about being called names. It is very questionable whether an Democratic presedent under a Republican congress and senate could push through any of the policies you abhor anyway, and if the choice would be between someone with a track record as a pathological liar and a sane person, I would know what I would vote, irrespective of whether I disliked some of the ideas his party stands for.
In a two-party system you must accept that your entire personal preference is often not on the menu, so that you have to choose between two evils.

Dr Muller,
Yes, Granny Mae "stormed" the Capitol building with her walker, and then took a selfie with the Capitol Police. I'm terrified of her. Ohh, scary! She's gonna "take over the government"... How? By baking her apple pie.
Meanwhile, during the "Summer of Love" riots in leftist communist utopia... I wonder why the law wasn't effective there? Oh... That's right, because leftists were in charge.
How about the "fiery, but mostly peaceful protests" that literally show an office building on fire behind CNN's painted clown?
If you actually lived in the US, far away from your fellow leftist activists and the illegal cartel members your ilk like to import to terrorize truly innocent people into giving the government more power, the only thing you'd ever have to worry about is what to eat for dinner.
A sane person doesn't believe a man can become a woman by declaration.
A sane person doesn't import cartel criminals and human traffickers because they can't be bothered to check IDs at the border.
A sane person doesn't give pallets of cash, billions of dollars, to a state sponsor of terrorism to attempt to bribe them to stop developing nuclear weapons.
A sane person doesn't tell their neighbors how much they hate them, and then expect them to vote for people who also say they hate their fellow Americans.
I chose the "evil" that doesn't pretend it's something else. I'm not swayed by theatrics.
Edit:
I truly do "get it". As a leftist, you think you can call me enough names or make enough absurdly false statements to change my beliefs, because that's how leftists fight with each other and bully their ilk into submission. That's where the left and the right differ. If I disagree with someone on the right, they eventually accept that we disagree and let it go. The left never has and never will. They're utterly convinced of their own righteousness, like any other religious cult.
Welcome to arguing with someone on the right. We don't care what leftists think of us and never will, because we're not so weak-minded that we require constant external validation from other people telling us what to think, what to say, and what to do. That's one of the best qualities of people who are actually on the right. It used to be a quality of people on the left, and was what I liked best before they traded independent thought for communist-approved thought. When you don't simply marinate in the pablum of marxists/communists, you're forced to think for yourself and formulate opinions that weren't handed to you by any talking head on a television program or your antisocial feed.

The only one that can be seen here to engage in excessive name calling and personal attack is you...
My original statement was that no one should (and will) ever trust a country of which the population at any time can appoint a known psychopat as their leader, and sheepishly watch how he is destroying the world economy as well as their own, his own military, prey on their former allies and friends, and quite likely initiate world war III. Whether they do this because they are stupid, suicidal or just evil, or to avoid bumping into people of imagined gender occasionally, is not really relevant. The point is that they are able to do it, and, as your writings seem to show, are quite eager to do it again. A traitor remains a traitor, no matter what his motives were...
Seems to me that if you believe money needs to be transferred on pallets to make a payment, you must be pretty far gone. Most people use banks to transfer money, nowadays. No doubt you are referring to the JCPOA, and that you consider it a bribe to give someone access to HIS OWN money that was frozen to coerce him into bending to your will when he finally does so says a lot.
But apparently you must be a leftist if you are not keen on living through (or dying in) WW3, and have friendly and cooperative relations with your neighbors...
Many of the other points you raise sound as pure propaganda as well. The idea that U.S. politicians of whatever party would campaign on the merit that they hate their fellow Americans sounds rather absurd. Terrorizing (and even killing) other people is what ICE does. But I get the idea: political violence is only when 'the other side' does it, otherwise it is fake news, and convictions in court are human-right violations if 'your own side' is at the losing end. I have travelled to the U.S. many times under Democratic presidents, and I never noticed that they did not bother to check IDs. Quite on the contrary, I would say.
You probably also believe the 2020 elections were rigged?
The gender point you raise is really the only one that seems to make sense. But it doesn't really seem a life-threatening issue.

You submitted more than one post calling everyone who voted for President Trump "stupid". I can go back and point them out to you, but there's no point because you don't find any fault with your actions.
My original statement was that no one should (and will) ever trust a country of which the population at any time can appoint a known psychopat as their leader, and sheepishly watch how he is destroying the world economy as well as their own, his own military, prey on their former allies and friends, and quite likely initiate world war III.
In various interviews, President Trump has personally said he regrets some of his remarks, particularly those that may have caused someone personal pain. I've never heard Hillary Clinton say the same thing. Vice President Harris has repeatedly said she thinks she's never handled anything poorly and wouldn't have changed the administration's border policy or the policies enacted or enforced under the Biden administration. Psychopaths don't express regrets that way because they find no fault in their actions; no introspection or belief that their behavior was wrong.
You're either very selective in your definition of a "psychopath", or you don't have any consistently applied standard.
European and Asian nations started WWI and WWII- two global wars in one century. As an American, I find your insinuation that the US will start WWIII to be delightfully self-aware, but it's what I've come to expect.
Preying upon former allies and friends... Now there's a real zinger. Nearly every nation on the planet has levied tariffs against US imports for decades, which directly suppresses US economic growth, but when there's finally reciprocity, you think equality is "preying upon others". We'll have to disagree on that one.
If you are referring to the Greenland situation, they were cozying up to the communist Chinese because the Chinese wanted a military base of operations near America. China turned those African nations they offered predatory loans to into military protectorates. If giving a base of operations to a rival foreign power that claims the territory of its neighbors is being a "friend" or "ally" to the United States, then we will never agree on that one.
No doubt you are referring to the JCPOA, and that you consider it a bribe to give someone access to HIS OWN money that was frozen to coerce him into bending to your will when he finally does so says a lot.
The people who had lawful control of the seized Iranian assets after they took American hostages during the violent Islamist overthrow of the Iranian government were systematically jailed, tortured, and executed by the Ayatollah Khomenei. Your implied legal theory is that the Ayatollah Khomenei and his lackeys were the lawful custodians of monies the US seized after he jailed and murdered the former monetary asset owners. If we follow your logic to its ultimate conclusion, you're asserting a very straightforward "might makes right" legal argument. Since that is your implied argument, then the United States government had every right to seize the assets that would otherwise have gone into the coffers of Islamists whose first act upon seizing power was to kidnap American citizens.
The idea that U.S. politicians of whatever party would campaign on the merit that they hate their fellow Americans sounds rather absurd.
Go to YouTube. In the search bar, I want you to type, "Democrats hate working class people". Numerous videos show Democrats openly discussing this apparent problem with other Democrats. If Democrat voters seem to think this is true, and the campaign advisors to people like former President Obama state it plainly, then your argument is with them, not me telling you what they are publicly stating as a matter of public perception or actual policy. If you can't be bothered to listen to what people who didn't vote for President Trump have been saying, then I guess that one is on you. Gavin Newsom's wife gave an interview in which she said she wanted to take her children on a tour of the Southern US and gawk at these strange rural working-class creatures, treating them as if they were "zoo animals".
You should at least try to determine whether what you believe is factual matches expressed and perceived reality. That requires some level of introspection and effort. Since you're retired, you obviously have some time available to look into what I've stated.
ICE attempting to deport people like "Maryland Man" (an illegal alien cartel criminal and human trafficker who threatened and was violent toward his own wife) is the way in which media stories are distorted beyond any resemblance to reality. When radical leftists violently interfere with ICE operations, the government attempts to detain them or shoot them if they resist, which is how the Police handle anyone who actively interferes with lawful arrests of violent felony suspects, irrespective of legal status here in the US.
I have travelled to the U.S. many times under Democratic presidents, and I never noticed that they did not bother to check IDs. Quite on the contrary, I would say.
Did you ever attempt to sneak into the US in the dead of night, hundreds of miles away from any recognized port of entry, or did you fly here aboard an airliner and lawfully enter the US through one of our many recognized ports of entry?
Since we both know the answer to that question, maybe you can quit pretending that what illegal aliens do is anything like what you did.
The gender point you raise is really the only one that seems to make sense. But it doesn't really seem a life-threatening issue.
If you have a wife, mother, or daughter you actually care about (clearly not a given from your casual dismissal), maybe ask them if they want a man dressed as a woman, claiming to be a woman, using their bathrooms and changing rooms.

The problem is that it is not anything less than stupid to wreck your own country. That is not name calling, just an objective assessment. But if you say that it was actually their intent to do this, I stand corrected, and they were just evil...
You're either very selective in your definition of a "psychopath", or you don't have any consistently applied standard.
Weird 'conclusion'. I never gave any characterization of other U.S. politicians, especially those not in power. I hardly know those.
European and Asian nations started WWI and WWII- two global wars in one century. As an American, I find your insinuation that the US will start WWIII to be delightfully self-aware, but it's what I've come to expect.
So what? Europe learned the lesson that it is more profitable to cooperate than to exploit each other unilaterally. It is now 80 years later, you might as well drag in the Romans or Alexander the Great. And you think the U.S. is a peaceful nation incapable of starting wars? Wake up!
Preying upon former allies and friends... Now there's a real zinger. Nearly every nation on the planet has levied tariffs against US imports for decades, which directly suppresses US economic growth, but when there's finally reciprocity, you think equality is "preying upon others". We'll have to disagree on that one.
I was referring more to threatening sovereignty, through military force if necessary.
But since you mention tariffs... These are just taxes levied from your own population, and it is the prerogative of sovereign countries to make their own tax laws. (Even within the E.U.) The reciprocity you refer to is of course a joke; there was nothing reciprocal on the tariffs that were proposed on 'liberation day'. But if U.S. voters prefer to pay more tax and vote for that, this is their democratic right. In fact I would encourage the U.S. to adopt a budgetting policy that is self-sustaining, instead of freeloading on the rest of the world. There are enough other countries eager to buy our products and that we can trade with. Trade is a voluntary action, and if it does not benefit both seller and buyer they would not do it in the first place. So hindering it is usually a self-harming action.
Who brainwashed you into believing that? Greenland is EU as well as NATO territory, and it is utterly unthinkable that we would even contemplate allowing a rival power in. It is in fact more likely that the U.S. would allow the Chinese a military base on Hawaii. And BTW, there is not much communism left in China, other than in name. Nowadays it is a fully capitalistic dictatorship, much like the U.S. is becoming.
Since that is your implied argument, then the United States government had every right to seize the assets that would otherwise have gone into the coffers of Islamists whose first act upon seizing power was to kidnap American citizens.
Interesting that you left out the part where in 1953 the CIA and MI6 overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran to replace it by a puppet regime, in order to facilitate their ransacking of Iran's oil reserves. And no, I don't think at all that might makes right, and what you describe appears to be an internal Iranian affair. So it is unclear how the U.S. government would have any right to seize those monies.
Go to YouTube. In the search bar, I want you to type, "Democrats hate working class people". Numerous videos show Democrats openly discussing this apparent problem with other Democrats. 'Radical leftists' no doubt meaning concerned U.S. citizens filming what happens with their phones. The Minneapolis ICE killings were world news, so you won't fool anyone here.
Did you ever attempt to sneak into the US in the dead of night, hundreds of miles away from any recognized port of entry, or did you fly here aboard an airliner and lawfully enter the US through one of our many recognized ports of entry?
Ah, so your issue is actually not checking of IDs, but poor control of the land borders. We have that problem too. It is in general more a practical matter than an immigration policy, even though populist propaganda tries to frame it as the latter. Measures are often quite expensive as well as causing huge trouble for those that have every right to cross the border, while at the same time being utterly ineffective against those that want to cross that same border illegaly. Especially criminals usually excell in finding ways to beat the system. I don't know the precise situation at the U.S.-Mexico border. I can imagine that there is far fewer regular traffic as over a typical E.U. border (where people often do their daily shopping in the adjacent country), OTOH, the border is much longer and regular crossings are few and far between. I am skeptical as to whether such a border can be cost-effectively protected (iron-curtain style minefields with towers with machine-gun armed guards every 100m would probably do), and whether anyone can know how leaky the so-called protection devised by the party that promised to solve the problem actually is.
If you have a wife, mother, or daughter you actually care about (clearly not a given from your casual dismissal), maybe ask them if they want a man dressed as a woman, claiming to be a woman, using their bathrooms and changing rooms.
The point of course is that whatever the rules are, a man disguised as a woman can always enter these premises. And that especially men with ill intends would be inclined to do exactly that.
But I already agreed this is a bad idea; the entire idea of having to dress up as a woman and be exposed in their changing room makes me irky.

Dr Muller,
The problem is that it is not anything less than stupid to wreck your own country. That is not name calling, just an objective assessment. But if you say that it was actually their intent to do this, I stand corrected, and they were just evil...
We're not wrecking our own country. Your assertion that we are doesn't make it true. It makes it your opinion. People in America are still allowed to vote for policies that you, personally, disagree with.
Weird 'conclusion'. I never gave any characterization of other U.S. politicians, especially those not in power. I hardly know those.
Maybe you should spend at least as much time learning about Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris as you do fixating on President Trump, because those were the alternatives presented to American voters.
So what? Europe learned the lesson that it is more profitable to cooperate than to exploit each other unilaterally. It is now 80 years later, you might as well drag in the Romans or Alexander the Great. And you think the U.S. is a peaceful nation incapable of starting wars? Wake up!
Europeans cooperate to talk trash about the US, but not much else, certainly not on defense. The Romans and Alexander the Great predated the power structures established after WWII. I never claimed the US was a peaceful nation. We've been at war more often than not, but somehow we didn't start either of the two most destructive conflicts in human history. There's an object lesson in there for someone, and since you're from Europe, I think that someone is you.
I was referring more to threatening sovereignty, through military force if necessary.
So was I.
I would prefer to see American cars on American roads, British cars on British roads, and so on. That means every nation has its own automotive industry. I know that's a crazy concept, but there it is. If everyone has their own domestic manufacturing and supply, then they don't need to fight over what they already have, their middle class has stable jobs, and factories are where most manufacturing innovations occur.
Freeloading... That's an interesting choice of words. If all trade with the US ended tomorrow, what would happen to the global economy?
Who brainwashed you into believing that? Greenland is EU as well as NATO territory, and it is utterly unthinkable that we would even contemplate allowing a rival power in. It is in fact more likely that the U.S. would allow the Chinese a military base on Hawaii. And BTW, there is not much communism left in China, other than in name. Nowadays it is a fully capitalistic dictatorship, much like the U.S. is becoming.
If Greenland broke away from Denmark completely, they were planning to invite "infrastructure investments" from Chinese state-owned enterprises. CCCC was going to build or expand an airport on Greenland, they were going to open an Iron and rare-earth-metal mines. They needed money and jobs, which is understandable. I don't blame them for their needs, but if China is the nation meeting those needs, then it's a direct threat to the US, unless we're supposed to pretend that the communist Chinese and Americans are great old-time drinking buddies.
There's not much communism left in China, according to you, but you're asking me if I've been brainwashed?
Interesting that you left out the part where in 1953 the CIA and MI6 overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran to replace it by a puppet regime, in order to facilitate their ransacking of Iran's oil reserves. And no, I don't think at all that might makes right, and what you describe appears to be an internal Iranian affair. So it is unclear how the U.S. government would have any right to seize those monies.
Yeah, America and Britain built oil infrastructure in Iran, their leader wanted to steal what he never built, so then we "stole it back". Funny how thievery works, isn't it? If someone can generate more force, then they can always take back what you took from them.
Great idea, if it is on the internet it must be true, right?
I'm at least curious enough to listen to people I mostly disagree with. You're clearly afraid to listen to American Democrats talk to each other about what they actually think and feel about their own party. If you're intellectually honest and the evidence doesn't align with your assertions, it means your understanding is wrong.
'Radical leftists' no doubt meaning concerned U.S. citizens filming what happens with their phones. The Minneapolis ICE killings were world news, so you won't fool anyone here.
Concerned citizens don't chase the Police 50 miles away from where they live. They're paid activists. Public records show payments between government accounts and these activists. This may not specifically be illegal because attribution is difficult to prove unless someone confesses, but impeding federal officers executing lawful arrest warrants is a federal felony:

Here's the indictment:

Ah, so your issue is actually not checking of IDs, but poor control of the land borders.
The real issue is not checking whether the person entering America is already a convicted felon or known terrorist from another country.
The point of course is that whatever the rules are, a man disguised as a woman can always enter these premises. And that especially men with ill intends would be inclined to do exactly that.
But I already agreed this is a bad idea; the entire idea of having to dress up as a woman and be exposed in their changing room makes me irky.
In that case, I think we can finally agree on something. I don't want men playing dress-up in a bathroom with my mother, wife, or daughter. We have laws here that prevent that sort of behavior. The Democrats attempted, and in a handful of cases succeeded, to repeal or change those laws in numerous jurisdictions, particularly in cities where Democrats have majority control over the legislature, executive, and judiciary.
