Medical Plans for Mars Insurance Cost Distribution Defaults

This topic is inspired by debate between RobertDyck and Void in August, 2026.

The debate is about the benefits of the Canadian Single Payer system and the US chaotic mixture of health plans.

This new topic has the potential of providing a collection of knowledge about the advantages and disadvantages of various health care plans.

This topic could also hold useful knowledge or insights about the entire subject of health care.

Health care starts at the individual level.

An individual traveling alone in a wilderness is responsible for health.

A group, traveling in a wilderness, has the opportunity to share responsibility for well being of others in the group.

Not every human is able to make the transition from self-focus to group focus.

Small expeditions may include medical specialists.  The Lewis and Clark expedition did not have a medical doctor in the group, so Lewis and Clark took such training as they could absorb, and medical supplies such as were available in the 17th century.

The US and Chinese are most likely to establish human occupied habitats on Mars.

The Chinese system may have evolved a bit since the days of Chairman Mao, but at one time medical care was considered to be the responsibility of the Nation as a whole.

It would be interesting to see what experiments for medical care have been tried in various Nations on Earth in 2026 and later.
