Cloudflare is an internet security company that provides security services to NewMars members who are enrolled in the online "Lifeboat".
Update 2026/08/23 - NVIDIA has been offering Build-a-Claw sessions. A post about them is added to this topic today.
The lifeboat system runs on a server separate from the Mars Society Dreamhost servers.
The idea is to have a place for members to connect when the Mars Society system goes down.
In the age of Artificial Intelligence, "agents" are (apparently) happening in real life.
They have long been a staple of science fiction, and early manifestations can be seen in the Linux automation tools and the Microsoft equivalent services. "cron" is an example of such a tool. "cron" launches software at times specified by the human in charge of a particular system or cluster of systems.
"agents" will (apparently) have functions far more sophisticated that even the most sophisticated automation products in use in 2026.
It is even possible early manifestations of "agents" have been running in companies like Meta, Microsoft, Oracle and others, and most of us are not aware of them.
Cloudflare is offering what appears to be an education series about agents.
To my knowledge, our current active membership does not include anyone who would be interested in this new topic.
However, our forum is open to the global Internet, and it is possible that there is a human somewhere on the planet who would be interested in the Cloudflare series.
More importantly, the NewMars forum archives has survived for 25 years (with some damage early on) and it will (hopefully) remain a repository of knowledge for some time.

What shipped yet?Agents need more than just a container to scale. We're introducing @cloudflare/computer↗, an agent runtime that dynamically orchestrates between fast, efficient isolates and full Linux containers to give every agent a computer of its own.
Workers RPC now works across Python and JavaScript↗. One coding agent can write a Python Worker and another can write a JavaScript Worker. At runtime, those Workers can exchange references to live objects and call their methods - no APIs, schemas, or serialization code.
We're sharing how we optimize frontier models like Kimi and GLM↗ by quantizing KV caches, compressing weights, and adding integrity checks to serve them faster, cheaper and safely.
The new Billable Usage API↗ gives developers and FinOps teams single-endpoint programmatic visibility into cost and usage across all self-serve products. Built around the FOCUS specification, you can now track spend seamlessly alongside the rest of your cloud stack.
Workers and Containers now support inbound TCP connections and gRPC↗. We're introducing this in private beta, you can request access here.

I asked Google Search about NVIDIA Build-a-Claw workshops. It turns out these have been happening since March of 2026 if not before. One even had 30,000 attendees! That 30,000 figure may be the count of attendees at the event, not the count of those who participated in the Build-a-Claw event.
