light electromagnetic radiation physics Faraday Effect

For SpaceNut .... we did not have a topic about light in the current index

If there was a topic about light before the crash of many years ago, please let readers know.

This topic is inspired by research that investigated the Faraday Effect.

The Faraday Effect is about the magnetic component of light, which consists of magnetic and electric fields.  The research at the article below. 180 years after the original discovery, reports on the magnetic influence of light on material, the opposite of the original research.

Hint: the finding is about electron  spin changes caused by light passing through material.

The article at the link below is about improving solar panel performance by collecting energy from photons that are not fully utilized by existing solar panels.  Work by others has been reported previously, and it seems likely research will continue on many fronts.  Here is a report from the University of New South Wales.
