I will give a limited apology for my part.
I regret having produced a social stress on this site, and will seek to avoid trying to process such conversations here.
I hope it will be understood that my historical way of thinking about things like how an electronic circuit or a process control works, made it seem to me that we could do such an analysis of social structures.
But this site allows other types of discussions that have value. If it can process 90% of topics and has to reject 10%, I can live with that as it has value.
Please regard my deviation into the dangerous 10% as a mistake which I hope not to repeat for the sake of the 90%.
Thanks, Void.

For Void re interesting post about hippo killing other creatures.
Your observations on this subject inspired me to try to learn more, because for some reason this behavior had never come to my attention.
While hippos are primarily herbivores, they are known to kill and consume other animals, including other hippos, crocodiles, and buffaloes. They are also known to attack and kill other animals that intrude on their territory, including humans, and can even kill their own young. Though not their primary diet, they are capable predators and can be quite aggressive, especially when defending their territory or young.
Here's a more detailed look:Other hippos:
Hippos have been observed attacking and killing other hippos, sometimes even their own offspring.Crocodiles:
Hippos are known to kill and eat crocodiles, sometimes with a single bite, according to BBC Wildlife Magazine.
Buffaloes:
Hippos have also been recorded killing buffaloes.
Other animals:
Hippos are known to attack and kill various other animals that enter their territory, including humans.
Territorial aggression:
Hippos are highly territorial and aggressive, especially when defending their space or young, and will attack other animals that they perceive as threats.Hippo guide: how big they are, what they eat, how fast they run
While there are few attacks, it would be folly to assume that these animals are not dangerous. Hippos are large and powerful, and ...BBC Wildlife Magazine

While your suggestion that killing intruders in their space might yield nutrients is interesting and likely correct, I rather doubt that any animal below humans is thinking about nutrients when killing threatening animals. In fact, very few humans are likely to think about that when killing millions and millions of other creatures every year.
I think a hippo who resents intrusion might be thinking about the intrusion or threat to youngsters, if they think much at all.

Re Hippos ... a video showed a hippo mother protecting her child from a pack of jackals. In that particular sequence no one got hurt, but I have no doubt the mother would have crushed one of the predators if she could have.

Thank you for that very interesting report! I hope more news about this invention comes about. The motor shown in the image appears to contain a lot of metal, so the text provided by the reporter seems (to me for sure) a bit misleading. Either that, or there is another motor not shown that contains no metal. Perhaps the word "copper" was meant? This article was translation from Chinese to English. A lot of mischief can occur in a translation. In any case, this discovery of yours may become the basis of it's own topic at some point.

Could this be an AI simulation of the voice of Elon Musk?
Anyone could put up a copy of an image of Musk.
Not just ** anyone ** can run an AI voice simulator that mimics the voice of Elon Musk.
You have hinted that this might not be authentic. Please investigate to see if this is a fake video.

Does it matter?
If I could unmask a fake now. The AI coming up will be even more sophisticated.
I fully expect that in a few years we will see new episodes of Gilligan's Island that will look authentic.
However the message was of significance. I think it is rather impolite to do Pavarotti type things. Stars are people too.

Thank you for considering my inquiry.
I appreciate your giving a warning to potential innocent readers who might be mislead into thinking this was really the voice of Musk.
In general, it would seem to me in keeping with the mission of the Mars Society, to keep postings in this forum as close to accurate as possible.
Postings that are intended to awaken base emotions would seem inappropriate, even if SpaceNut allows a member to publish them.

I think I am not doing so bad. Some uncomfortable realities are needed to be understood. But I am very, very careful usually.
