I'm interested in the characteristics of the inks used for calligraphy, and the tools used to lay down the ink.
This topic is offered for NewMars members who might have knowledge in this field.
I'd be happy to extend the topic title to include other writing systems, such as Chinese Calligraphy.
My reason for opening the topic is in hopes the inks and tools used might be better suited for writing on slick surfaces which are less than ideal for ball point pen or felt tip pen.

The specific problem I am trying to solve, and the reason for this inquiry, is that i'm trying to put labels on small boxes made of coated cardboard. These boxes represent cells in an OpenFOAM mesh.
Each cell has six faces and 8 corners.
Each corner is identified by a point, and each point appears in three adjoining faces.
Each point has a coordinate consisting of X, Y and Z values.
Each face has an ID (Identification number)
Each point has an ID
Each cell has it's own ID
The purpose of these physical manifestion of cells is to assist with planning software to replicate a section of an existing mesh.
An option is to create labels using a label making machine. This is actually quite practical.
The downside is expense. Each roll of tape costs on the order of $30 US, and while there are 8 meters of tape in each reel, that goes surprisingly quickly.
