So, I think this might be good on Mars.

If you have Sodium Chloride, then that can be split.

The Sodium could be stored in dry places perhaps in a mix of N2 and Argon.  The Chlorine may have industrial uses.

It seems that if you then have water, and put Sodium into the cell it will produce electricity and also something like Drain Cleaner.  Water and Sodium Hydroxide.

But you could react that liquid output with CO2 and make it less reactive.  Sodium Carbonate / and then to Baking Soda.

The thing is Sodium might be a chemical that could be stored in dry protected places.  So, then you sort of "Burn" it as if it were wood, (Sort Of).

This could be handy if you are in a dust storm, or deep high latitude winter.  Of course I am still a fan of Nuclear for Mars, even so.  Fission and/or Fusion.  But Solar could have a place as well.
