First, thanks for bringing this topic of yours back into view...
I went back and reread the first set of 25 posts, and noted the generally good quality of contributions...
At one point, you said something about axial tilt, and I find the subject to be of interest in the context of a tidally locked object.
I said (at the time) that I thought the axial tilt of a moon that is tidally locked to a planet (like Jupiter) would be the same as Jupiter.
Today, I realized that my idea was incorrect, for the simple reason that the orbiting moon moves around the planet, and the axis of rotation remains 90 degrees perpendicular to a line to the center of the planet.
I found something that may come from quora, which means it may be wrong, or it might be right.
No! By definition, a tidally locked body always faces one spot at the body it is tidally locked to. The planet in this case rotates around the same axis as the orbit. There can be no axial tilt because that's the definition of being tidally locked.

I see some room for an axial tilt in the case of a tidally locked object. A science fiction writer is reported to have used this possibility to imagine a world whose inhabitants see the Sun rise and fall on the horizon.
If a NewMars member can find examples of tidally locked objects with an axial tilt that would be helpful.
A good place for something like that might be the Orbital Mechanics topic.

As usual, the animation is terrific.
The Sun bobbing up and down was presented in the context of an elliptical orbit with eccentricity.
That's a bit different from axial tilt, but I think the appearance would be similar.

This is to let you know your suggestion of a change to the title of the new topic on salt is received.
The title can certainly be changed, at any time.
If you are willing to engage with me, I'd like to explore how we might proceed.
It is possible we have different objectives, and perhaps the different objectives might be achieved with a new topic.
Here are the two opening versions:
Salt Deposits on Mars within Water on Mars
and
Salt and Water resources on Mars and other worlds.
My intention in creating a new topic about salt was NOT to stimulate discussion, but instead, to inspire members to collect actual knowledge so that a future reader might benefit from the collection.
There might well be a greater need and demand for a new topic to stimulate discussion that is not limited to Mars, but instead considered the entire Solar system.
A reader of such a topic might be looking for entertainment? I'm not sure what would draw a reader into that title, but perhaps there is something?
However, it seems to me such a topic needs to be placed outside of a category called "Water on Mars".
Do we need a new category for the Solar System? Now that we "own" the forum software, we might be able to create such a category, if it could be justified.
We would need to convince the Admins of the need for a new category. A sound argument might help to ease that process.

Here's a (somewhat related) item from science fiction ... an author imagined stepping in front of a self-driving car as a way of calling the police.
I think that makes sense, although I don't know if that capability yet exists.

Thanks for that promising report of success with research to eliminate carbon from iron extraction by using hydrogen plasma (protons) to deconstruct molecules containing iron.
This appears to be pyrolysis taken to the next level.
It costs extra energy to lift hydrogen to this state, but the report indicates that renewable energy may be able to meet the need.
The story you showed us was followed by a report on advances in manufacture of solid state batteries.

I am looking for any and all advances in the art of separation of molecules, and the one you found seems especially promising.
The method reported is (apparently) able to select lithium vs magnesium in a 400:1 ratio, up from the previous best of 10:1.
The team has already scaled up their membranes and tested them in larger electrodialysis stacks, a first step toward industrial application. In one experiment, they were able to concentrate lithium from a mixed brine solution to over 3 moles per liter, a level suitable for producing high-purity lithium carbonate, the key ingredient in batteries.
The same technology could also be used to purify water, recover valuable metals from mining wastewater, or even extract copper and other critical materials.
“This technology has tremendous potential in a variety of commercially important areas, from energy storage to water purification to recovery of critical materials in a circular economy,” said Professor Sandro Macchietto, Director of Enterprise in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial.
The findings appeared in the journal Nature Water.

However, even work free of numbers may contains expressions such as "low"
It is entirely possible readers of the NewMars forum may arrive without an expectation of what the words "low" or "high" might mean with respect to Mars.
It is also highly likely that first time readers will not be familiar with the concept of "Standard Habitat Pressure" for Mars, which is well established in the 20 year history of the forum.
The pressure in the dome you have shown might be "low" compared to Earth Standard Temperature and Pressure, but high compared to Mars Standard Habitat Pressure.
Your description of the low pressure is intriguing, because it suggests that experiment on Mars may be necessary to find the right value to achieve the effect you have given.
This post is not intended to require anyone to ** do ** anything, or to change anything.

I'm pretty busy these days, trying to help members who are pursuing various objectives.
I just ran across an article about research that I find intriguing, but I don't have time to look into it.
The article at the link below appears to be about use of data processing tools to help to identify bacteria or other microbes that help or hinder growth of potatoes. Apparently nature approves of some of these tiny creatures, and potatos grow well when they are present.
The researchers seem to think that other crops may have similar relationships with microbes.

Thanks for posting the link to that (to me surprising) example of UK invention.
While the article takes care to point out that the engineer authors haven't discovered some new principle of physics, they appear to have adapted the idea published by others to the uniquely favorable circumstances in the UK.
However, having said that, I had gas heating for standalone homes, and am familiar with the pipes involved.
The piece of the puzzle I did NOT see in the article, is about the return loop.
I'll be watching for our NewMars members to comment upon the article you found, and perhaps to report where I missed something.

In thinking about the interesting scenario you have painted, it occurred to me that the people of Earth cannot tolerate this idea.
We do not currently have a traffic regulation system. Everything people do (from all Nations) is done by taking a calculated risk they will not collide with the property of someone else.
This is literally like a road system on Earth. where people drive across intersections at 60+ miles and hour, without regard to whether the intersection is occupied.
For that reason, I expect that at some point, after some serious collisions no doubt, humans will muster the will power to cooperate with each other, instead of just doing whatever they feel like in orbit.
At that time, I would expect that use of heat shields to slow down would be discouraged.
Your vision appears to be of vessels arriving from the Moon with 12 km/s velocity, having to dip deep into the atmosphere to slow down, and necessarily crossing all regions inhabited by satellites, including ones inhabited by humans.
An alternative is to develop a space tug system similar to the marine tug systems in use in all maritime nations on Earth today.

Perhaps there is a way for your space navigators using your concept to guarantee to the passengers that they will not collide with a space station or any of the myriad communications satellites or any of myriad military satellites or any of the myriad junk satellites.
It would be rewarding to your readers to see how you solve ** that ** problem, while diving deep into the atmosphere to shed kinetic energy.
A solution that (somehow?) allows your arriving spaceship to gradually slow down to merge gently into orbit in LEO while avoiding collision would also be of interest.
The observation that it is "natural" for objects to intrude into the atmosphere of Earth seems reasonable to me. But I note that a few humans are actively looking for such objects, and other humans are seeking ways to prevent the unwanted intrusions.
This leads me to think that humans will continue these efforts and will eventually succeed.
At that point, the arrival of an object with human origin might be viewed as an unwanted intruder.
In the not too distant past it was suggested that such unwanted intruders might be destroyed with explosives, but it is my understanding this idea is no longer favored because the explosion would greatly increase the number of projectiles while not removing the threat.
There is a business opportunity ahead for an entrepreneur who can think up a way to capture unwanted natural or human intruders and keep them far away from Earth or from LEO itself.
The idea that LEO is a commons upon which everyone can graze sheep is beginning to tarnish, as more and more folks bring their flocks to the commons to consume the abundant grass without regard for others.
Humans have discovered that overfishing leads to disaster for fish populations. That is an example of humans thinking of the ocean as a commons where everyone can "graze" without regard for anyone else.
Yet humans have a long history of resenting having to think of anyone else. It is perfectly natural and indeed, quite common, for humans to think only of themselves.

Your post includes ideas for expansion of the market for heat shields! You've inspired this thought... Perhaps there is a future market for heat shields for return from for outer Solar System journeys.
You and our readers are aware that solar system mission flight planners routinely use planetary fly-bys to pick up energy for an outbound flight.
Until now, we have not had any trips down-system.
However, there is some talk of retrieving objects from Mars, and that means the arriving vessels will have gravity induced momentum to kill.
Venus might be an ** excellent ** place to kill momentum because it has a thick atmosphere, and there is presently little traffic in the vicinity. After killing momentum at Venus, a returning vessel might be able to gently fold into Earth's embrace without all the excitement that an ordinary return would entail.
Perhaps the market you have seen for lunar heat shields will become quite large in time.
