Mars needs to build a complex Air Purifier Conditioner Filter system

Mars might have many types of toxins, smell, bacteria, vapors and particles in its colony air, getting rid of odors from recycling or sewage or compost might be one issue done through nice fragrant smells, perhaps the higher rate of radiation and UV on Mars could be used to an advantage and clean bacteria from the air.

On Earth at a sandy Science-facility in the dry deserts and in the South Pole research stations, you need an air conditioner, even in our moderate climates in office spaces in the city we need Air Conditioner due to the change in environment. However Mars could have large colonization and expansion with future expanding colonies it might need to build its own computers and make its own telescopes and not ship these manufactured products all the way from Earth. On Mars a region growing plants and algae and mushrooms might connect to other chemical production facility, special fertilizer vitamin pills or medical products might be manufactured to keep the farmer's animal healthy, product manufactured for the health of plants and humans, we do not know what the levels of increased radiation with lower gravity and toxic Mars dust will do but we assume it will cause ill health effects. Mars could have farming inside some kind of Biodome or artificial Biosphere and these artificial made farming methods and monitored farms would also need to be part of an air conditioning system on Mars. A Mars a colony might be large with tunnels and corridors it might go inside a cave to shield from radiation while more hardy plants and animal life might be inside a Biosphere with an 'outdoor' view all of these domes and artificial habitat could be part of a complex air conditioning air filtration network. Robotic self building colonies would unfold and make themself, they would build their own walls and corridors and airlocks and also be designed with ambitions of further expansions. If you are already investing in sending some machine or person on Mars, why don't you consider a colony with future expansions, robots that build farms and chemical facility and air filters for that farm. Stations like MIR and Skylab seemed to be learning experiments, Unpressurised elements and Arrays and experiments could be attached to these stations. MIR was a hot messy station in the end and NASA had to scramble to create a fixes for Skylab Orbital Workshop, there were protests from both MIR and Skylab and temperatures inside Skylab were untenable, on of the more clean high tech looking stations is the smaller Chinese station however China also had lots of public data and archived news clips from the USA and Russia to work on, it has the latest air filters and Air-Con for its Scientific experiments on Tiangong while the ISS is getting old. It is possible the Mars village will not be launched on one single colonization ship but instead be a series of ships and cargo and robots building a colony much like the way Third-generation space stations are modular stations, assembled in orbit from pieces launched separately different elements of the Mars colony and Mars Air Con and Air Filtration system might be done separately, the people of Mars might build and chose their own best air distribution systems.


Air-Con and Air-Filters might help keep good machine manufactured standard and keep farm animal and humans healthy from internal virus or bacteria, on Earth when you see NASA or ESA or JAXA working in an engineered space, which maintains a very low concentration of airborne particles, dust or particulates, a very same filter system could be used to filter out chemical vapor, bacteria, virus or some type of moldy fungi spores.  Movement and dust could ruin a computer on Mars, any small complex circuits and computer chips can have a vulnerability to electro-static discharge (ESD) which is why when you see guys around any future space telescope they almost look like guys working in a pharma bio lab. Mars is unlikely to ship all its product from Earth, it might build its own simplified computer system, it could build its own Bike or Truck or Buggy or Rovers. We are unsure if life was ever on the Red Planet and Mars is not considered to have true soil but its dust and sands the land, the Martian regolith is the expected source for many minerals,  iron oxide-rich dust gives Mars its color, the study of 'Mars Meteorites' is a controversial subject but from Orbiters and Landers Mars is thought to contain Thorium for use in future reactors and contain hydrated calcium sulfate, some silicates thought to exist are  olivine, pyroxene and feldspar. Mars dust is expected to damage human lungs but to be less toxic than 'Moon Dust', Mars is expected to have SiO2 Silicon Dioxide, CaO Calcium Oxide, SO3 Sulfur Trioxide, Na2O Sodium Oxide, Al2O3 Aluminum Oxide, MgO Magnesium Oxide, P2O5 Phosphorus Pentoxide, TiO2 Titanium Dioxide, Cr2O3 Chromium(III) Oxide, MnO Manganese(II) Oxide, Ni Nickel, Zn Zinc, Cl Chlorine, K2O Potassium Oxide and opaline silica, and gypsum, types of salt perchlorate and toxic perchlorates which may turn out to be useful. On Mars an engineered space, which maintains a very low concentration of airborne particulates could have a manufacturing advantage over other towns and villages. These potential resources could be used so that Mars is able to self make its own Air Purifier Conditioner Filter system, Mars could have chemical electronic-manufacturing rooms and medical bio pharma rooms which are more clean from the Toxic Red Dusts of the planet more well isolated, well-controlled from contamination, and actively cleansed, Rovers themselves might go routinely go inside a Mars garage for a 'Car Wash'. Inside the 'wiper' topic which discussed cleaning a window for a Truck/Train on Mars we discussed using another chemical product other than water which will be a 'rare' resource on Mars and it might be considered 'wasteful' to use water as we use it to clean on Earth, other resourceful product which can be taken from the atmosphere are Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon monoxide and traces of Methane, Water vapor, it is assumed with access to a Solar power grid or Nuclear reactor we can build complex hydro carbons or farms could be made which will give supply of alcohol a cleaning fluid...Inside each expanding colony the robots and people would get an air conditioner with air purifier, which can both cool the temperature and clean the air at once? and also improve a manufacturing standard and keep the farm animals healthy.

In the beginning Space Exploration was done by nations and country unions, it was thought Colonization was to be done by political powers and nation states, the USA, the USSR or Russian Soviets and later China putting people in space and their own 'Rover' on Mars. It is also likely that Mars will have great input from the Private Sector with companies like Space-X doing so many amazing feats. Companies like Toyota, GM, Ford, Porsche, Honda have already expressed interest in building some type of car which travels on some offworld terrain, sometimes internationally known medical companies and universities from Canada, Japan or the EU support biological or material experiments on stations, it is likely that companies which study food and medicine will also support some part of a Mars colony, one part of Mars might farm spider webs for strong material or luxury silks for humans to wear inside. Each town or manufacturing village might have independent production, they might have their own ideas about Air-Con and Air-Filters, product shipping and if the same standards inside their own Earth based facilities and if these could also apply to a Mars company corporate standard. Mars might have different independent towns each with their own manufactured standard for Air-Con and Air Filtered systems, Mars could have villages and colonies with their own ideas, Mars might have a tourist leisure village or city, Mars could have Chemical Farm and Beer town, Techno-Computer Capital, after a time political power might centralize in one area and it could have a Capital town for barter, political representation or digi coin trade, Mars could have its own Capital of Medicine, the town with the best doctors and Drones delivering the best vitamin products for the farm animals and humans. Mars could have its own contest for 'Social Leisure Entertainment Manufacturing' it is possible that some colonists might live sickly lives from the toxic dust, the increased radiation and lower gravity, some down time in some of the sports complex, cinema theater music garden and lake biodome areas might help them live in better quality of life, down time and vacation in a leisure town might extend their lives. A colony with entertainment and the better Air-Con system or better Air-Filters could be seen as having the best Hospitality a space tourist, political leader, news journalist traveling there might give the site good feedback reports, they might experience increased diplomacy leverage become stronger in negotiation with other humans on Mars. The Air Con or Air Filter system could make one colony far more comfortable than another, people might live a short life in one colony because of toxins everywhere, failing farms, a lack of ideas on how to combat sickness from radiation and lower gravity, the colony that helps its robots and people deal with toxic dust on the floors, on people's space suits and in the air might become the more livable more comfortable colony, the town with the best Air Con Air Filter system could have the best health, more people could want to move there this town might achieve its Cultural Dominations appearing to be 'The Best' compared to other manufacturing villages and other political systems on Mars.  With Sewage, Composting, Manufacturing and Recycling and people, insect, fish and other mammals on farms it is possible Mars would have troublesome smells, perhaps a top selling item would be an Air freshener Product used to mask foul odors, a smell of flowers or some burnt aroma might disguise another smell, deodorizer blocks and hanging freshners, a Mars fragrance could be manufactured including sprays, candles, gels,  use of a Mars made incense. A colony might have its halls sprayed by automation deodorizer or robots might spray clean smells and alcohol, white vinegar and baking soda used for cleaning by robotics, smells could be absorbed by silica with pores or an activated charcoal a company like Air Wick might find a market on Mars.

A number of missions to sample Mars air and ground have been considered, MSR might be cancelled due to cost over runs and politics, however more Mars sample return missions are being planned including by China, this would allow actual Martian soil and air particles to be returned to Earth for more advanced analysis. Dust on Mars can be measured in Micrometre One millionth of a metre, particles of dust can be 5 μm and smaller, a 50 μm for the measurement of a human hair, the value 75 is often used for human hair as humans and their hair vary, hair anywhere between 17 μm to 181 μm in millionths of a meter, once particles of this size are filtered the Air-Con or Air-Filter system can be set to deal with fungal spores and other chemicals and biology, 1–10 μm – length of a typical bacterium, 10 μm – size of fungal vegetation spore, 3–8 μm – width of strand of spider web silk, more complex Nano technology could be imported from Earth to deal with something like the Corona virus or a new type of MER, SARS, Covid-19 outbreak or influenza. If humans and animals and Mars are tp have sickly compromised immune systems then something like a common cold could be deadly. If your town is unhealthy a simple viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory tract that affects the respiratory mucosa of the nose, throat, sinuses, and larynx could be fatal. Mars might develop its own classification or standard for manufacturing or the quality of air for the living Cyborg, Robot, Human Colonists and Machine, Mars could have its own measurement for 'colony health'. Or also if a town has corporate backing from investors it could be asked to follow an Earth standard, an Earth university might suggest its own ideas on how material science research is done inside a building, Canada might have its own idea and standard for polymers and woods and processing of grass and algae, a Japanese vitamin pill company might have its own ideas on air quality and manufacturing of pills and this Japan company might financially support a Mars village, South Korea might want to build their own Mars-Car to compete with Japan. The Mars fuels and Chemical industry will be important to get colonization moving forward, the old companies like LG Chem, Air Liquide, Yara, Asahi Kasei, Nutrien, Braskem, Air Products and Chemicals Inc, Evonik Industries, Eurochem, a wealthy Thailand company PTT Global Chemical might suddenly become PTT Galactic Chemical and Royal-Dutch Shell and the old British Tea Company families might evolve move forward invest in a Mars space colony but the companies which do not invest in space will perhaps be seen as old dinosaurs and fade, some of their old Earth corporate structures still sanding but mostly gone like the Monolithic human figures the Easter Island Heads or old companies fading like the Myth of Atlantis. Each village and production facility could have their own idea on Air-Con and Air-Filtration, with investments from many places the Europeans, the USA a group like the FDA or EU might try impose their own regulation to keep that invested town healthy.

An air circulation system could also prevent the build up of toxic fumes in a Mars colony. The air across the entire Mars town or village would be constantly monitored by both human and an AI system of Artificial Intelligence Robotics to prevent a situation like what happened in Biosphere-II. It's possible some of the early filtration systems could make a one-way trip, they could be part of a colony ship but then disassemble themselves and then reassemble themselves into a Mars Colony Air-Con Air-Filter system.

Mars could have demands for product to keep a colony alive but Liquids may evaporate any aerosolized vapors product hanging in the air could create future contamination inside pharmaceutical medical product, dust and electric charge could damage a microchip. Some Mold Spores, Bacteria, and some Viruses could be removed by heat, cold, chemical cleaning, increase in temperature and extreme pressure and air filtration and also remove dust and smells and bacteria from insects, plants, microscopic particle flakes from container material and smells and bacteria from Farm animals or possible future 'Pets'. The Mars Air-Con Air-Filter system will need to  get rid of Mars dust but also have the ability of getting rid of airborne liquid vapors smoke, odors, germs, bacteria, allergens, contaminants, while the more basic Air Condition Units in human living space might Reduce or increase humidity when needed or warms and cools the indoor temperature and circulates 'fresh' air from the Mars garden, its possible many humans on the Moon or animals and humans on Mars might experience illness due to dust, radiation and lower gravity or start suffering from respiratory issues a good Air Purifier Conditioner Filter system will help the humans and farm animals live more comfortable lives, a filter system might also remove or kill or reduce some Viruses and things measured smaller than Micrometre in size.

Situation

The North American facility of a market leader in ship power solutions manufactures propulsion systems for the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine program. Due to the size and complexity of the systems, production is limited to a maximum of two systems per year. NASA has been upgrading the solution for that through several iterations of CO2 scrubbers that were tested on the ISS. These machines remove excess CO2 from the air and send it into the void. Not only would it filter and detect but it would also remove moisture within the habitat. All air from mar atmospheric would also need that filtering before it can be used within the habitat.
