New Cancer research

YouTube video of interview with a leading cancer researcher. He has made a major discovery. He claims all cancer is caused by damage to mitochondria, resulting in the mitochondria not processing oxygen. Instead it reverts to a "fermentation" metabolism. This results in uncontrolled cell growth, which is cancer. Mitochondria of these cancer cells can only consume sugar and glutamine. Humans have an enzyme called amylase that breaks down complex carbohydrates into sugar, so his treatment is to starve cancer cells of all carbohydrates and glutamine. You can't do just one, if you starve the cancer of one it will simply consume the other. But if you starve cancer of both, cancer basically starves to death. Healthy cells can consume fat and protein, cancer cannot. So his solution is an extreme keto diet. The researcher goes on to express frustration; "the establishment" keeps claiming cancer is caused by genetic damage. He points out experiments that have been done where the nucleus of a cancer cell is punched out, and the nucleus of a healthy cell is put in. Result is the cell is still cancer. When that cell is put in the body of a laboratory mouse, the cell cancer grows just as fast. So cancer is not in the nucleus, it's in some other part of the cell. He argues it problem is mitochondrial disfunction. The interviewer has difficulty following this point a couple times in this interview, the interviewer talks about genetic damage causing cancer. You can see the researcher's face drop when she does that. But to be fair, mitochondria has its own DNA, it has a plasmid, which is a circle of DNA. The article in Wikipedia about mitochondrial DNA is not clear whether DNA in a mitochondria is multiple copies of one plasmid, or whether there are several different plasmids. So could cancer be caused by genetic damage to DNA in mitochondria? The researcher doesn't give a clear answer to that, he just says cancer is disfunction of the mitochondria. He says the establishment will not allow use of his new treatment, so what he and his colleagues are doing now is developing a treatment protocol for glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer that currently has no treatment. That type of cancer is fatal, and there's no treatment. So he believes "the establishment" will allow his treatment to be used for this type of cancer. They're writing a detailed paper that is basically "how to". It will have to go through human trials. He is hoping that once this treatment protocol is accepted, then it will be considered for other types of cancer. Another caution: he believes all cancer is caused by this, that all cancer only consumes carbohydrate and glutamine. I have read other articles and seen documentaries by other groups doing research into cancer who found different types of cancer consume different things. So I'm skeptical that this will cure every type of cancer, but if his protocol can cure many types that currently cannot be cured, that's a major advancement.

Re: New Cancer research

For RobertDyck re new topic ...

Best wishes for success with this important new topic.

The research with which you've started is important by itself, but you've created a topic that has significant upside growth potential.

NewMars members are free to contribute links (with text) to other research reports in this field.

In addition, everyone is free to look for and post supporting reports that will surely appear in time.
