Experiments

Each animal biology experiment that Space Biology supports is designed to build our understanding of how the novel environment(s) of spaceflight affect complex multicellular organisms at the molecular, physiological, and systemic levels. Below are some examples of Space Biology-funded Animal research projects that are still in progress or have recently been completed.

Extreme Survival

Experiments designed to narrow down key stress pathways may help us understand the critical stress response mechanisms that maintain life in space.

Not sure what you would use something Penguins for, but they tolerate cold very well
maybe Bird Poop?

You might need to feed them fish to make 'Guano' a crop fertilizer it will have nitrogen, phosphate, and potassium, people searched for it on Earth to a lesser extent, sought for the production of the explosive fuel 'gunpowder'.

Chinstrap penguins sleep more than 10,000 times a day -- but just for a few seconds -- while they're guarding their eggs, according to new research that tracked the brain activity of wild, freely behaving birds.
