College graduates, too, are fleeing California’s big cities

What sort of personality do they select for in the astronaut corps at the moment? I know some of them have turned out to be a little unstable, but not most.

Terraformer the only one person I am aware of that became a danger was 'Lisa Nowak' and it happened over fifteen years ago back on Earth. She is a person who is now a 'convicted criminal' so you can say less than half of one percent were unstable on a criminal level. Yet 'Hundreds' upon hundreds of Astronauts from the United States have been to Space without any incident, this includes private flight and including training people from Canada, Europe, Japan and other nations and space agency.  In 2017, People magazine reported that Nowak was living quietly in Texas, where she was working in the private sector. Her attorney stated: "She's doing well."

If Android Robots go to Mars you don't need to worry about 'Love Triangle Drama' but then again they keep trying to make ChatGPT and AI and Chatbots 'more human'
After the Lisa Nowak news I believe NASA improved its checks or examined how well NASA attended to the mental health of its astronauts.

'Antarctica' is also an interesting space as an Analogue, it had many people from many nations doing research but sometimes it also has events where people have been 'unstable'.

Florida is quickly losing favor with retirees. Remote workers and the wealthy are flocking to the state and driving up home prices, leaving those on a fixed income feeling the pinch.

Almost half of young people living in London plan to leave within the next 10 years with many blaming rising cost-of-living and property prices, a new poll shows.

Re: California Exodus...perhaps one day we will see an Off-World Exodus

The idea of putting a small group of people on Mars for science is perhaps comparable to a life of science at the South Pole.

If you build a Mars base for thousands, a small town already prepared, you provide access to food, air and water then its possible they would gladly come for a better life? Today people still flee California once considered an ideal place to live.

The physical benefit and location and resource of California it seems to be an idea place to live, so why so muich homeless, poverty, drugs and a recession, it can trade and fish at the sea, it is not landlocked like Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Bolivia, Serbia, Laos, Bhutan, Republic of Artsakh or the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, California is different it has Tech resources, has access to huge food resource and farming temperatures, finance trade, the agriculture industry is massive so the only way one could destroy such a state would be by human stupidity, a state can be killed by war, foreign cultural invasion, people can suffer through drugs, crime and bad politics.

Only politics is the true force, the politics of California is forcing people to flee the State and move to other areas of America which were previously considered uninhabitable.

Currently it is still perhaps easier to build a colony on Mt Everest or under the sea but Mars offers a totally new world so the benefits of Mars will be something very unique?

Re: California Exodus...perhaps one day we will see an Off-World Exodus

Many states have seen large swing in populations.
Arizona’s Retirees Are Fleeing: Here’s Where They’re Settling

Some of the reasons that they are leaving the states

The decision to leave Arizona is the result of several factors. First is the rising cost of living. What was once an affordable haven has seen a steep increase in housing prices and general living expenses, making it less attractive to retirees on fixed incomes.

Furthermore, extreme weather conditions, particularly the intensifying summer heat, have also contributed to this outflow. The state has experienced some of the highest temperatures on record in recent years, making it increasingly uncomfortable for older people.

Re: California Exodus...perhaps one day we will see an Off-World Exodus

Here is another state where in this case retiree's are leaving.
Arizona’s Retirees Are Fleeing: Here’s Where They’re Settling

Known for its warm climate and picturesque landscapes, 1 in 8 retirees who leave their state report a rise in housing expenses

average cost of a comfortable retirement in New Mexico, for example, is $68,008.

Arizona’s cost of living, on the other hand, tends to be a bit higher, with the cost of a comfortable retirement hovering around $77, 404

That means the available money on the fixed income means they are needing to work, which sort of defeats retiring ever.

Going with the title of the topic The wealthiest Californians are fleeing the state. Why that’s very bad news for the economy

much like the other high taxes, soaring living costs, and housing market challenges.
