Mars circular accelerator concept

Newmars transport - Martian circular accelerator concept

I wasn't really sure about this design, I have no intention to copyright or patent anything as I was almost day dreaming about some Evel Knievel circus stunt as I typed up a reply in the Moon-Earth topic. I think it would be successful for transport and User Tahanson43206 thinks a rotating-vehicle-inside-a-cylinder or giant crater idea might work to transport machine and material back and forth. There may be a possibility of using hybrid transport system like Nuclear or Chemical or Ion Drive as a Second Stage. People have dreamed up ideas for a while George Medhurst had an idea of atmospheric railway that could convey people or cargo through pressurized  tubes. This would have been 'steam punk?' scifi as early atmospheric railways and pneumatic tube transport systems relied on steam power for propulsion. Michel Verne talked of a submarine pneumatic tube transport system that could propel a passenger capsule under the Atlantic Ocean. On Venus the Average surface pressure is 93 bar 1,350 psi its highest peak Maxwell Montes, getting product back and forth on Venus would be difficult maybe involve a midair rendezvous, or robot skyplane or lander but carries the ascent rocket with the balloon all the way to the Venusian surface, the average temperature on Venus is 864 degrees Fahrenheit 462 degrees Celsius, your train would be Ceramic or covered in thermal protection system tiles?  A train in other worlds in space in a different world to Earth, in thinner air it would be already a type of Hyperloop low-pressure system. I'm not sure humans or animals could take the G forces but it could be used to transport material, deliver a machine and low-tech product, Mars of course has its own issues and benefits different to Lunar surface, maybe set a Hyperloop inside a Crater on top of one of the Mountains, 'Olympus Mons' the Tallest and Largest Volcano has crater systems with craters, there is also Elysium Mons, Arsia Mons, or going a possibility to go to Low Mars Orbit or sub orbital transit flights?

Re: Mars circular accelerator concept

For Mars_B4_Moon re new topic!

Best wishes for success with this topic!  It has potential to inspire NewMars members to think about how this concept might be brought from vision/idea to a payload on it's way to a Solar System destination.

Hopefully there will be opportunities to estimate forces involved, and engineering challenges.

The "traditional" way to use spin to launch an object (eg, David and Goliath) is by holding the payload under tension until the moment of release.

Your proposal would use compression instead, so the engineering problem would be quite different.

I presume there are advantages and disadvantages to both designs.

Re: Mars circular accelerator concept

Something different again

SpinLaunch receives funding to commercialize its kinetic launcher that will shoot rockets into space at 8,000 km/h
