The slanderous propaganda campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla and SpaceX

Be careful.

Don't swallow hook, line and sinker every anti-Musk propaganda hit piece you will read on the internet and corporate media.

The character assassination campaign against Musk began last year by the ultra-right when Musk resigned from two Trump economic boards to protest Trumps  withdrawal from the climate accord.

Now a few self-proclaimed "liberal" publications have joined the attack pack.

I'll be addressing this "get Musk" propaganda campaign at the Mars Society convention.

One easy way to help himself is to stop tweeting....take a short vacation and to get another ....
Space x has "Glynn Shotwell to make his dreams" but his other business not so much in

He is going to need a group to deal with the space

as these are not a direct business oportunities but are side businesses for going to space. He must decide which ones he will want and which ones that are going to be a cost of doing business as they will not be profitable.

Re: The slanderous propaganda campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla and SpaceX

Musk has provided most of the info himself...he hasn't had to do the tweets, or the interviews...I am sure the vast majority of people interested in Mars colonisation and exploration wish him well. There are always vultures who circle low at such times, but that's to be expected...a lot of vested interests in those vultures.

If I had an account and was not the one posting the information contained on it that would be a big problem as what might be put on it could be possibly not what Was my words.

The Other Brains Behind Tesla and SpaceX; Eccentric, brilliant, and now troubled, Elon Musk is synonymous with his companies. Good thing he’s not the only one running them.

https://twitter.com/elonmusk

The number of projects that he does want to complete for bettering mankind is one of the reasons that many look up to him.

The Boring Company, promises to have no above-ground disruption for the estimated 14 months it will take to build the 3.6-mile tunnel. While the cost of building the tunnel will take many years to recoup, sources familiar with the project say The Boring Company projects to be operationally profitable by charging a fee of $1 per person, per trip.

5-minute commutes? Colonies on Mars? AI that won't kill us? Hey, thanks, Elon!

Elon Musk firm tapped to build Chicago high-speed transit

The proposed transit system would consist of electric vehicles reaching speeds as high as 150 mph (240 kph) in underground tunnels, as they travel to O'Hare airport, one of the nation's busiest.

The vehicles would be built on a modified Tesla Model X chassis and carry eight to 16 passengers, the company said.

Without the correct people on each of these projects to make sure they do go unfrettered to completion he will have many problems being spread out so thin...

Re: The slanderous propaganda campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla and SpaceX

I wonder what Edward Heisler thinks of Elon Musk, now that he has shown his hand and isn't prepared to cowtow to left-wing BS without question?  Musk's own 'trans' daughter is trying to disown him (and his money?), presumably because he isn't taking Democrat propaganda on faith.  The man is actually smart enough to have his own opinions.  He doesn't treat political issues like religious dogma handed down from on high.

Re: The slanderous propaganda campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla and SpaceX

Calliban,

I'm guessing that the slanderous campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla, and SpaceX will now come from the radical left, which is where it was always coming from.  The left does not argue the merits of an idea, they argue their emotions in response to an idea.  Emotions can't be argued or reasoned with, and any attempt to do so only results in one side or the other repeating their religious dogma to themselves and ignoring any counter-points that are logic-based, and also ignoring the results.  The left moves from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis, all of it jumbled up in their three-pound universe.  The world outside of their earlobes is ignored in favor of the world within their minds, and it's been that way since I've been alive.  Their latest attempt to foist their latest ideology onto others, and portray it as "normative", has backfired on them in a major way.  People who aren't enamored with their ideology have started pushing back.

Where does this ultimately end?

Nobody really knows, and anyone who says they know is lying to you- left / right / center / doesn't matter.  The left will continue to diverge from observable reality until they lose all support from their own base as the divergence magnifies disagreements amongst them, but what happens between now and then and what society looks like afterwards is impossible to know.

Part of American society could end up living like the Amish while some other part lives inside an AI-run computer simulation where men can have babies, nobody lives or dies, and the currency is emotive agreement from others.  Seems nuts right now, doesn't it?  10 years ago nobody was talking about men bearing children, either, and everyone left/right/center would've thought you were nuts if you made a statement like that.  We're living through interesting times.

Re: The slanderous propaganda campaign to destroy Musk, Tesla and SpaceX

One question I have about the emergence of AI, relates to our response if an AI program or some terrorist group or adversarial nation, such as Russia or China, in possession of an AI program decides to take us back to the time before battery-powered electronic toys, then what is the remedy for that?

An AI program has no ability to control a car with no electronics or electronically-controlled batteries.  The same issue applies to electronically-controlled devices such as cell phones, solar panels, smart-homes, smart-grids, IOT, etc.  This doesn't even have to be intentional, either.  A software glitch that charges or discharges the battery at a rate that the cooling system can't handle will set the car on fire.  A computer program could run an experiment without understanding its implications, or what it's actually connected to, and cause this problem.  We built these computers and AI programs, and humans are notorious for making mistakes, so this is not only a possibility but an eventuality.

Assuming most of us are eventually driving electronically-controlled vehicles with embedded cellular technology, then short of a nuclear war or a global pandemic with a more lethal virus or a large asteroid impact, nothing else could cause that level of destruction / disruption to society.  Imagine waking up one day and your car is a brick, and maybe the battery itself is not damaged at all, but because the computer that controls it is toast and cannot simply be "rebooted" by cycling power or reloading a software program.

Problems such as this are already present in the semiconductor manufacturing industry because the microcircuitry is so complex and so expansive that many chips cannot be thoroughly tested to assure that there are no defects before they're brought to market.  Considerable efforts are taken to ensure that this does not happen, but it still happens anyway, and with some regularity these days.  If there was a "first problem" for AI to work on, it would be proper testing of these chips and making sure that there are no hardware vulnerabilities that bad actors can exploit.  The second problem would be encryption of cellular signals to assure that these bad actors don't gain privileged access to critical computer systems to begin with.

Sooner or later, EV or cellular technology companies will make hardware and/or software mistakes that one of these bad actors will be able to exploit on an unprecedented scale, and with long-lasting economic implications, potentially for people around the world.  I'd wager that the Russians and Chinese are already hard at work on exploiting these systems, and most companies don't have the resources required to defend against nation-state level attacks.

it's the economy?
