A prototype is supposedly coming ‘sometime next year’

I am sure the membership has noticed this.

I think is is obvious that for the Moon and for the Earth's hill sphere this could be very big,
presuming that they produce something useful.  For these places there will be a lot of people
on Earth who can give directions and monitor activities with small time latency.

Of course many other places such as Mars will be important also.

I already have variant notions of how to make an alternate version.

1) Rickshaw wagon attachable to Robot.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickshaw
Of course this would be for locations with real or spin gravity.

2) Bird Feet.
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=ch … ORM=VDQVAP
In this case the feet can also be like monkey feet but can be walked on bipedially.  Fairly obvious that such feet would be
assistive in manipulating objects.  And in low g situations could perch on things.

3) Wings.
In low g space stations this would be useful, provided that there was enough "Air" to fly in.

I have been looking into the ring necked parrots.  I suspect that these are animals that could be domesticated.  I have
also considered how their brain size might grow if they did adapt to low g situations.

Most other intelligent
creatures we observe are mammals.  In this case we have what is said to be the descendent of
dinosaurs.  So, a alien mind.  Must be very efficient and I think it runs very fast.  But the gravity of Earth has not
allowed size growth.

Still birds of some sorts if domesticated
to not bite, and to have greater mind capacity.  Might be the only Aliens other
than  robots that humans ever meet.

Why a 2 wheeled cart?

Well because it could carry things like batteries, and tools, life support for humans.

While I did say rickshaw, I do not anticipate that the robot would hold it in it's hands.  More likely it could be "Hitched" to the robots waist, and may have a swivel so the robot could turn backwards to get tools of parts from the cart.

It might be possible to use this for the cart:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segway
but that would be more expensive.

I know that the bird feet may look a bit creepy.  However they could grip robot bird shoes.  That is a shoe with a perch.  That might protect the bird feet as well.

If you did, it might be possible to swing the robot upwards by a method, and so allow both hands and bird feet to work on something.

For rough or smooth terrain, I like the 2 legs and 2 wheels arrangement.

I think it will greatly facilitate the prevention of trips and falls for the robot.

Of course the down side is that it will have a bigger footprint, so most likely it will not be able to operate in tight spaces that humans can operate in.

However it might be quite good "Outside", and also in properly designed facilities with sufficient corridor spacing.

I have also considered this for a human instead of the humanoid robot.  Obviously
no bird feet.  But for the Moon or Mars a good way of avoiding trips and falls, which might become life threatening.

Stumbled on this, think it can be here:

I am sure it will be addressed.

The main reason I included this post is that in that material is a reference to:

Oh yes.  Systems in the family of what has been previously mentioned here, could
be good for people with various kinds of mobility problems.  Perhaps preferable to other devices such as wheel chairs.

I have also felt that it would be good for people who have weak legs.  It could be balanced out so that they only experience a g force they can handle.

Interesting thing is also that such a device might work on Earth, for people who grew up in a lower gravity field.
