I was saddened to learn the passing of one of my great heroes in my life, General "Chuck" Yeager at age 97. First man to break the sound barrier in the Bell X-1. Wasn't sure where to post this but the passing should be noted by all in the aerospace community. A full life well lived.

One of Yeager's famous comments when asked what he thought when he saw his first jet fighter: "I shot it down."
Chuck was truly one of those individuals who lived bigger than life. He was a real pioneer for the spacefaring community, by setting both speed and altitude records flying rocket planes for the Air Force.
