Thanks TA, as I live in London, I might visit that exhibition if it's still on...will check it out.
I think that is definitely a potential benefit from living on Mars - learning how to live in closed loop systems that will benefit humankind back on Earth.

For Louis re #2
Thank you for your reply regarding the exhibition in London ....
Please note that even if the exhibition has ended, many of the participants will still be there (in or near London) and potentially available for interviews by an enterprising NewMars forum member.
I am actively looking for people who will be interested in building up the My Hacienda concept, and people who are working on closed loop living environments are good candidates.
As a reminder for new readers of forum postings, the My Hacienda concept is to imagine a fully functional community on Mars (or away from Earth anywhere) able to produce all the goods and services enjoyed by citizens of first world countries on Earth in 2019.
The idea is NOT to spend money on equipment at this point, but instead to build up the knowledge and skills, and working relationships that would be seen in an actual community.
The virtual community is supplemented by nascent concepts for fully realized versions of the community on Earth, at potential locations in Canada and Norway.
Thanks again for your interest in the Exposition!
