I had thought that we had a topic on Humans to Mars H2M but I was not able to find it....

There were probably other such reports but here is the most recent....This is its 4th year....

2018 Humans to Mars Report Released at Humans to Mars Summit

The lander in the left side of the image is about what i think a first mission size would be...

Report

"With strong leadership and the right decisions, we firmly believe that humans are still on track to walk on Mars by 2033."

Re: Human 2 Mars Summit 2014, April 22 to April 24 in Washington, D.C.

Their "About Us" blurb says the challenge they are responding to is:

"To keep NASA, industry and policymakers focused on the goal of landing of humans on the surface of Mars by 2033. Explore Mars has played a significant role in helping to shape the road to Mars. Over the next 16 years, our mission will be to ensure that our elected officials, NASA, industry, and our international partners remain firmly on this path."

To keep?  NASA hasn't been in any way focused on that goal for the part 5 decades! Explore Mars seem somewhat prey to delusional thinking. They want to see humans on Mars within 20 years, they are "passionate" about it (always get suspicious when people say they are "passionate" about something!) but the organisation's CEO makes no mention of Space X!!! Isn't it a little odd that people who are passionate about going to Mars seem completely uninterested in Space X?

Well Nasa is an agency with resources to parly into the dreams to go; while Space x is some one that you must have the funds to make your dream become real.
