Direct a space telescope for a day!

Louis will be very interested in this - http://www.planetaryresources.com/2012/ … ckstarter/

I'd donate a couple of hundred dollars to direct the Arkyd-100. As much as I'd like too, I wouldn't take photographs of Ceres, because it's not going to have that high a resolution... scratch that, if I only take one photo, it'll be of Ceres. Just so I can have a framed print of the planet that I took myself...

Okay, I admit it - there may well be money in allowing people to direct probes and take photographs for themselves. If they charge $100 a picture... this could be an appreciable source of revenue, especially if people can get the pictures framed and maybe even signed by the guys at Planetary Resources.

Now, I wonder if they'll start selling probes for a few dozen grand, allowing groups to run their own off-the-shelf space exploration program...

Re: Direct a space telescope for a day!

Okay, all you guys who did *not* chose Mars as target for a picture, please report to the nearest flogging-station! tongue

I'd see this being a good source of revenue when the conspiracy fiends find out about this, lining up to take pics of area 51, HAARP etc lol

seriously, isn't this a potential privacy nightmare? 'accidental' pic of neighbor's wife sunbathing  in summer, neighbor finds out, lawsuit et c....
