For SpaceNut re #1751 ....

Apparently the citizens were annoyed by Putin's arrest of their popular governor.

In Putin's Russia, they'll be allowed to let off steam, to a point.

After that, I'd expect gradual squeeze to eliminate further departure from the dictatorship Putin is building.

Re: Anti-Kremlin protest in Russia's far east

much like the Portland protests this one has been going on for 4 weeks.  Supporters of Furgal, who is a member of the nationalist LDPR party, feel he is being punished for defeating a candidate from the ruling pro-Putin United Russia party in 2018.Thousands of people marched in the Russian far eastern city of Khabarovsk on Saturday (Aug 1) for a fourth consecutive weekend in protest at President Vladimir Putin's handling

Re: Anti-Kremlin protest in Russia's far east

SpaceNut,

Well, at least Russian "protesters" wear their masks properly and don't leave filth everywhere the way the street thugs in Portland do.

I looked up the "LDPR" using Google:

LDPR (Liberal Democratic Party of Russia) Party Ideology:
Russian ultra-nationalism and authoritarianism
Conservative right-wing to far-right-wing

Apparently, the LDPR has also had known neo-nazis participating in their body politic.

"Putin bad" because Democrats falsely claimed Putin was associated with with "Orange Man".  Ok, Putin is bad, but are actual nazis (rather than the "pretend nazis" that antifa, a "pretend anti-fascist group", is "fighting against") somehow better?  A supposedly anti-fascist Democrat "re-tweeting" (or whatever the cool kids are doing these days) a laughably mis-labeled political party using policies guided by known neo-nazis instead?

Are these LDPR "protesters" really the "protesters" that you want to give a shout-out to here, boss?

Maybe give this one a second thought.

Moscow drone attack: 'The windows of my home shook'
https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-65752252

Putin's new Russia

Drone Attacks...more than a 'Protest'

Russia has attacked civilian areas, in some media it would be classed as terrorism and a crime by some if Ukraine also did the same type of attacks in an act of vengeance or retribution it could also be classed as terrorism and a crime. Deliberate targeting of civliian people is more than 'Collateral Damage' it is a crime. In this war in radio and tv and internet reports we see a totally new form of warfare a mix of very old and very new, old methods helicopter fighting helicopter, tank against tank, people in WW1 style trenches against others in trenches. Some with a mix of high tech guns and vintage WW1 era weapons, we see mercenary switches sides depending on the pay and all guns from all parts of the world, improvised home made weapons plus improvised bombs, robotic drones attacking tanks, robotic kamikaze ships hitting bigger ships, drone missiles hitting buildings.

Social media Reports that 20+ to 32 drones attack Moscow
